Good to clean but need more effort

The elevator was a nightmare. You have to wait sometime 20 minutes to arrive and people in the lobby in the queue to have a chance.

Location, breakfast, pool, bar/restaurants are amazing. Views are also amazing, lobby is grand and they play live piano, amazing!

Cons:

The hotel is old and the rooms are a bit stuffy. The airport transfer fee is also a bit dodgy. Three of the Uber rides we ordered were cancelled right at the hotel gate for around $10. We then had to book a transfer through the hotel for $75. It’s clear the staff knew they were overcharging.

Pros:

Le séjour au Sofitel Cairo Nile El Gezirah a été globalement très agréable. Le petit déjeuner est très complet avec des viennoiseries de qualité. L’emplacement de l’hôtel est idéal pour visiter Le Caire tout en profitant d’une magnifique vue sur le Nil. Nous avons également beaucoup apprécié les attentions du personnel de réception qui nous a gentiment surclassés avec une vue Nil et nous a offert un late check-out gratuit jusqu’à 15h le dernier jour, un geste très apprécié. Mention spéciale également pour le restaurant marocain de l’hôtel, absolument délicieux et parmi les meilleures expériences culinaires de notre séjour. Le personnel du ménage est très exceptionnel et très serviable.

Cons:

Nous regrettons en revanche le manque d’attention du personnel autour de la piscine. Les employés préféraient souvent rester assis à l’ombre plutôt que de gérer les sunbeds laissés libres par les clients partants. De plus, certains serveurs discutaient entre eux alors que nous essayions de les appeler pour être servis. Concernant le petit déjeuner, les places à l’extérieur sont très limitées alors qu’une grande partie de la terrasse voisine restait vide. Nous avons dû insister pour pouvoir nous y installer car elle était soi-disant “non destinée” au petit déjeuner, ce qui était assez incompréhensible.
