Convenient location to the convention center
Parking location was a bit far
The Hyatt Regency Columbus exceeded my expectations during our recent stay. The check-in process was easy, the staff was friendly, and there is a lot of amenities on site. My favorite is the convenience store on the first floor, where the staff is nice and they have an amazing selection. We stayed in room 2012; the 12 and 34 series rooms are at the end (corner) of the hotels, and they are oddly shaped/triangular. I thought it was quirky in the best way. The tile shower was nice and the beds were very comfortable.
Great clean and friendly staff
There was done kind of competition with different schools, our room was on the floor where there was alot of students, a little loud, but not enough to complain, would have liked for them to realize they had our room in the middle of alit of theres...
I love my annual stay at the Hyatt. It smells amazing when you walk in the lobby, the staff is friendly and courteous, the food is amazing. The fitness center is fantastic. They do an incredible job of feeding our very large group(600+people) fast and efficiently. They do a great job with the conference facilities as well.
It was amazing! I wish we could’ve stayed longer, we had one of the corner rooms and it was absolutely stunning, i would 10/10 recommend to anyone
i loved everything about it
Overall a nice stay, however there were some convivences that were missed during our stay. For example, there was only a clock on one side of the King sized bed, which would've been appreciated. Worse still, there were no working outlets on one side of the bed, so charging your phone or other personal devices was a bit difficult. There were some built in USB charging ports on one side of the bed side table, but they didn't work. So there was really only one working outlet near enough to the bed to charge a phone/watch/laptop/etc and use it while in bed. In this modern era, this just seems like a major oversight for a hotel of this level.
Room was quiet and clean, though there were no trash bags in any of the cans, which made throwing away certain food waste feel odd. The shower had large refillable shampoo/conditioner/body wash, which was nice. Though the body wash was nearly empty when we entered the room.
Additional notes: Would've loved a microwave in the room, especially since there was no included breakfast with the stay. The breakfast bar was tasty but a bit pricey for what it was. Parking is $25 a night for the garage, which was steep in my opinion.
Front desk staff and room were wonderful. Easy stay once we were checked in.
Parking and getting to our room were RIDICULOUS! Outside staff told us we couldn’t unload our bags in the front parking lot unless we gave them the keys to our vehicle. My husband never left the vehicle and they were INCREDIBLY rude while we attempted to get our 5 kids out of the car and up to the building safely. Once we got our bags out of the car, they MADE US put them on a cart telling us “it’s our policy”. They walked our bags MAYBE 20 steps to the front doors then REFUSED to go in until we left to park our car. Again- my husband never left the car and was in the process of trying to exit the parking lot to head to the garage but the lot was OVER FILLED and he couldn’t move the car. We wheeled my grandmother (in a wheelchair) inside and took all the kids into the lobby due to the cold. When I tried to get our luggage, they told me they had to wheel the carts in. After arguing for a few minutes about them actually bringing my belongings inside, they wheeled the cart in and asked me for my room number. I had not finished check in and my husband was parking the car (with a 15 minutes walk back to the hotel). The told me “this cart will remain with us until it goes to your room”. I said “you made me put the belongings on the cart to walk inside the door!” The man holding my cart said “it’s policy”. So with 5 kids and my grandmother, the woman behind the desk told me I could carry all my bags from the cart to my room after we’d already piled it all on the cart and spent 20 minutes arguing with the staff about giving us back OUR stuff! LESS THAN GREAT outside staff.
Clean hotel. Staff is helpful, polite. Room was clean. Has options for meals.
If you prefer to eat at a local restaurant, there are many restaurants options close by.
The hotel was clean but I was able to hear the on going conversation in the next room. The one microwave for the entire floor was not working and dirty.
Staff were very nice and helpful, room was cleaned daily without having to tell them to come.
There was no breakfast very disappointing
I didn’t like having to pay extra for parking
Great staff! Hotel location was central. Also very convenient to conference I was attending at the convention center. Good options nearby as well. Valet was a little delayed due to load of guests but it was well handled
The hotel & room was very nice as you would expect from a Hyatt. The issue was we were charged $91 extra for "early check-out." We paid for 4 full nights, but checked out in the afternoon on the 4th day. Why in the world would they charge $91 for early check-out when paid in full until the next morning? The hotel lost no money as again we paid for 4 full nights. It is irrelevant if we were in the room overnight or left during the afternoon the day before check-out. At $300/night x 4 nights we spent a lot. The $91 extra is ridiculous. So basically, we could have paid for 3 full nights instead & paid the $91 late check-out fee on day 4 & it would of been $300 cheaper for the exact same stay. Ridiculous.
The front desk staff were cheerful and very helpful. The room was clean and very comfortable. The food at the bar was good and the drinks were well mixed. It was overall a very enjoyable stay.
