This was my second time staying at this location and it was absolutely amazing!
We had a short stay for my boyfriend's birthday, and I had booked a suite. When we went to check in, the concierge let us know that their Gold Coast suite was availble, as it was the off-season, and asked if we wanted to upgrade for a small fee. We took the $100 upcharge for a room that was normally twice the price of what we booked.
The room and view was stunning; very clean, well-designed, massive (there were two bathrooms, a HUGE shower, and a very deep bathtub), and tons of comfort amenities: heated floors in the bathroom, toilets with bidets, fully adjustable lighting and shades in every room that easily changed it from open and bright to comfy and romantic. My boyfriend and I were both so happy and comfortable it was hard to leave!
In addition to the gorgeous room, the staff were friendly and helpful, and we also stopped for cocktails and snacks at NoMi, the hotel's on-site restaurant, and the food was a wonderful fine dining experience you don't normally see in a hotel. I honestly have no complaints about our stay, and we will definitely be coming back to this location.
This was my first time staying at Park Hyatt Chicago, and it happened to be one of the coldest weekends, with temperatures below zero. The cozy, comfortable room more than made up for the cold. The service was excellent, and the staff were very friendly. The location is convenient and within walking distance of Lake Michigan and most of the stores I enjoy. This was a short visit, but I plan to return when the weather is better.
Excellent and comfortable rooms. Delicious breakfast with a great Chicago view. Great Location with shopping all around
The definition of refined luxury, the Park Hyatt Chicago pairs a muted color palette with confidently bold service. Though smaller in scale, the public spaces feel intentionally intimate, enhanced by dim, ambient lighting that encourages guests to slow down. The service leans toward the impersonal side, yet remains top-notch in execution.
The restaurant brings a sense of excitement, complemented by stunning views of Lake Michigan. For a hotel restaurant, the food exceeds expectations, and the staff deserves special praise for their elegant, composed service style.
The corner rooms are a dream—featuring a window bench that invites you to get cozy and linger with the view. The bed is plush and indulgently soft, while the room lighting is, without question, the best I’ve experienced in a hotel. Thoughtfully layered ambient lighting, motion-activated foot lights, and intuitive digital controls work together to create a perfectly balanced, elevated atmosphere.
Great staff, beautiful hotel with great amenities and services. Right in the heart of Mag mile with great places to eat and shop.
Everything
Nothing
The Park Hyatt, though a mainstay in the luxury hotel space here in Chicago, continues to impress. They rooms were clean and tidy, the team was hospitable and anticipated our needs. 10/10 would recommend and stay again.
This was our first time at Park Hyatt. We usually stay at Hyatt Regency on Wacker. Park Hyatt did not disappoint. The beds were extremely comfortable. The location is central to much of what you'd want to do in River North, and the room was clean and accommodating.
This was my first ever trip to Chicago, celebrating my birthday. We arrived after the travel day from hell and Fay at the front desk was incredibly kind and accommodating. She anticipated future needs and took care of them in advance at check-in (LOVE THAT!). I had booked thru AMEX Fine Hotels and Resorts and we had been upgraded to a high floor city view, and then offered us a Water Tower view with a deep soaking tub for a nominal fee. The room had a head-on, jaw dropping Water Tower and Lake Michigan views, a bonus was being able to take them in from a thoughtful window seat that spanned the width of the whole window. Room was equipped with a plush King bed with Frette linens and LeLabo toiletries, spacious and quiet, with muted ambient city noise (to be expected, anyone wishing otherwise should stay in the suburbs, this is the middle of Chicago). I slept incredibly well. We celebrated my birthday with dinner at NoMi just after check-in, and enjoyed 3 wonderful breakfasts there as well. I was pleasantly surprised how accommodating they were w/vegan diners. Our FHR credit was enough to cover a nice breakfast and then some. I didn't use the spa or fitness center
Everyone we encountered from doormen to bell persons, room service (Karen was fantastic, thoughtful, anticipatory, quick, give her a raise and whatever shift she wants!), concierge, front desk--everything you wish for in hotel service. This hotel is a well oiled machine that never lets on how busy it is, our journey was followed from the front door til checkout. I love this place and they made my birthday and first trip to Chicago something I'll always treasure. I hope to stay here again.
My birthday weekend was pure bliss in a luxurious Lakeview King corner room. Floor-to-ceiling windows offered stunning city and lake views, plush king bed with Frette linens, spacious marble bathroom with push button rain shower and LeLabo amenities. Flawless, anticipatory service from check-in to checkout. Exquisite fine dining, curated wine list , and personalized touches made it unforgettable. Truly luxurious.
Stay was for the Christmas Holiday. Outstanding hotel and the staff was fantastic. NOMI was very special. Great Holiday stay.
Great location and water tower & Michigan lake view. The breakfast is also excellent. All the staff are very nice! The hotel locates at the best place for shopping for downtown Chicago, very convenient.
Overall, it was a very average experience. Hotels in major cities do not lack Globalist guests, so it’s best not to set expectations too high. The only benefit I actually received was complimentary breakfast.
The room cleanliness was poor: there were obvious stains on the living room sofa and carpet, and very noticeable stains on the pillows—although they did give me clean pillowcases, lol. The in-room phone was broken, so every time I needed anything, I had to go to the front desk in person. One of the pool shower stalls was out of order, so I had to share a single stall with my son.
That said, the breakfast was very refined, and the service and food quality at the NoMI restaurant are definitely worth recommending.
Wonderful location within walking distance to Everything. Staff so accommodating and my room had the requested lakeview view with huge windows out to the sunrise and over the Watertower Christmas lights. So amazing. Will return again
Nothing
The Park Hyatt remains the premiere hotel in Chicago. Outstanding location, beautiful rooms, incredible food and beverage, and a staff that is second to none. No reason to stay anywhere else. This property has it all and then some.
My husband and I stayed at the Park Hyatt on a Wednesday night the week before Christmas for our yearly trip to the city to window shop, see the lights, and have an excellent meal. We loved it! The customer service is just great. Check-in and check-out were fast and easy, the bellmen were great, and the valet service was perfect. The young man at the door coordinating all the coming and going of cars/people/bags/etc was so pleasant and helpful. The room was great. We had booked a deluxe King city-view, but when we arrived, we were asked if we’d like to upgrade to the Lake view for an extra $40 – yes, please! The room was gorgeous, with a large bathroom and a lovely shower. The views from the room, with huge windows facing east, allowed us to look straight down Chicago Avenue to the lake. The iconic Water Tower was right outside our window. Another thing we really liked about the room was the light and shade control button system. It was easy to figure out and very convenient. The best light feature is that there are motion sensors, so when you get out of bed in the dark, a very low light illuminates from under the bed. And when you walk into the bathroom, there are low lights that come on under the vanities. We’ve been to hotel rooms with motion sensors that turn on the regular bright bathroom light when you walk in, and that is not very nice in the middle of the night. I am a morning tea drinker, and I was pleased to see that there was a hot water kettle right next to the usual Nespresso machine. My only small critique was that there was one small coffee/tea cup and one espresso cup. I had to brew my tea, then transfer it to a glass after it had cooled a bit, so my husband could use the same cup to make his coffee. Very odd. The minibar is stocked with many tasty snacks and drinks (for a price!). We dined at NoMi and loved it, but I will review that separately.
An absolute amazing stay at the best hotel in Chicaog. For me, it was much better then other 5 star hotels in the area like The Langham and Peninsula. It was by far one of the most exceptional hotels I've staid at in terms of customer service. For example. My flight arrived late and I got in my uber from Ohare at 9, which was 10 my time and was starving. All I had to do was text the hotel asking for dining options. They sent me the room service menu and allowed me to place an order via text and it was waiting for me in my room when I arrived.
The rooms themselves were amazing. It does not feel like you are in hotel room, rather a high rise upscale apartment. I could have just spent the entire trip in the room and have been happy, which I can't say about most other 5 star hotels, these rooms were incredible, again IMO better then then The Peninsula or Langham.
The best that Hyatt has to offer. A beautiful hotel in a fantastic Chicago location. I will return sa soon as possible. It was a fantastic experience to be a guest!
This is our go to place downtown Chicago. Cannot beat the location, the food, the amenities and the best of all, the staff and people that make every stay special. They go out of their way to treat you like family. The hotel is beautiful, NoMi Kitchen and lounge fantastic. The gym is solid, rooms are superb. We will keep coming back
