Best hotel in Chicago
The best service, the best staff. And any hotel can be compared. You can stay with confidence . You won't regret
We frequent this hotel for staycation for its location and great loyalty member perks. The staff are always so hospitable. Breakfast is great- both à la cart and Buffett. We love the Buffett.
I’ve visited so many times but the reason for writing the review today is because I got exceptional service from a front desk person named Aileen yesterday. She went over and beyond and helped find a river view room for us when they were 100% capacity bc it was my kids first time coming to see the river being dyed for st. Patrick’s day. She really knows how to treat a globalist and appreciate us for our loyalty.
Great location and great serve. Staff was welcoming and awesome all the time. We had a great view from our room overlooking the river and the clock tower. It was a very memorable experience for me to wake up looking at the time at the clock tower and reflecting on the peaceful river and the bridge below.
When I booked my room for the NAEA conference in March 2026, it was a bit last minute. Because of this, I had to book outside of the block of rooms that were allocated to the group. The reservation reps that I spoke to on the phone were very helpful in finding me a room with a comparable rate to the group rate. Everything was wonderful during the stay until I got home and really looked at my invoice. Nowhere in the process of booking my room nor check in nor check out was I alerted that my personal credit card was going to be charged additional fees. There were destination fees and destination fee occupancy taxes added to my bill without anyone ever alerting me. I feel like this was not transparent, it was sneaky, and why do these fees even exist? There is already an occupancy tax. What even is a destination fee and a destination fee occupancy tax? It is not a product, nor a service. Lastly, I understand that these fees might be ‘necessary’ but what I am most upset about is the non-transparency. I spoke to a manager, Grace, who would not reverse the charge of $88 to my credit card. Her big point was that the person that checked me in was a senior member and ‘definitely had told me when he checked me in’. He did not alert me about any fees- And in fact I even asked him what my personal credit card would cover. I was told it was for incidentals only. I am an intelligent woman who was completely alert at check-in. No explanation or warning was given for any additional fees. For a giant hotel chain to not have reversed that charge is absolutely ridiculous. I will not be staying at Hyatt's in the future. and I'll probably tell as many people as I can that I was bamboozled by Hyatt.
Great location, friendly and helpful staff, clean and comfortable rooms. It was an easy walk to the art museums and the theater district.
The staff was very nice. Navigating the building was confusing but the building map, signs and staff made it easier and less frustrating.
Wonderful location and very friendly and helpful staff. I absolutely loved my stay here as it was very convenient for the conference and I felt safe as a solo woman traveling with the closeness of Michigan avenue, museums, and hotel restaurants.
I recently attended a conference at this venue and was disappointed by the lack of basic connectivity. Most of the conference rooms are located below ground, resulting in no cell service, and attendees were charged $50 for Wi‑Fi during a three‑day event—an unreasonable fee for something that should be standard. This caused multiple presentations to fail due to inaccessible online content and made it difficult to stay in touch with my team. If a venue is hosting a conference at a premium cost, reliable Wi‑Fi should be included.
Phenomenal!!! Why stay anywhere else if you’re there for a convention? Rooms were clean and spacious, views were amazing. The service at American Craft stood out as an unexpected highlight of the trip- their breakfast staff is a well oiled machine that provides a seamless experience. The convention center is HUGE, so leave travel time, and if you’re a Globalist, you’re in for a treat with the Regency Club having some of the best views in the city!
I had a very pleasant stay at the Hyatt. The room was very clean, well organized, and comfortable, which made the stay relaxing. I especially appreciated the attention to cleanliness throughout the hotel. The staff were friendly, professional, and very helpful whenever we had questions. Their warm attitude and excellent service made the experience even better.
As a World of Hyatt member, I also appreciated the great discounts and benefits offered through the membership program. These perks made the stay even more enjoyable and added extra value to the overall experience. Overall, it was a wonderful stay, and I would gladly choose Hyatt again in the future.
Luxurious, really nice, well located, and very convenient.
The stay was quite pricey, and there were additional fees and a high security deposit. The restaurant options were also limited for vegans.
I stayed here while attending a convention and had a great experience. The staff was extremely helpful and quick to respond to any needs. We had a small check-in issue, but it was resolved right away with professionalism and kindness. The hotel was clearly well staffed for the event, and team members were always available to help guests find meeting rooms and navigate the busy spaces. During peak times they did a great job managing traffic flow and keeping things organized. Overall, the service made a busy convention weekend run smoothly.
I went for a convention but took my husband along. There was enough for him to see and do while I was in the conference and we enjoyed the area afterward. Great location, very walkable and train access to anywhere beyond that. Amazing food and tourist attractions and activities nearby.
Unfortunately, I was not informed that the food benefit associated with my stay could only be used after 5:00 PM. This lack of communication created several issues for me during my visit.
First, I will not be able to receive reimbursement from my workplace because of how the charges were processed. Had I known about the time restriction, I would have placed my meals on my credit card and submitted them for reimbursement. Because I was unaware, I billed lunch to the room and placed dinner on my credit card. If the policy had been communicated in advance, I would have reversed these charges.
Additionally, dinner at the Steak and Sushi restaurant was not a positive experience. Our group checked in at 5:00 PM and did not leave until nearly 8:00 PM due to long waits for both the food and the checks. My dinner cost approximately $60, and $25 of that could have been applied to my room benefit had I been aware of the restriction. The meal itself was also disappointing. For example, I ordered rice balls, but the dish that arrived consisted of three sushi rice balls, which was not what I expected based on the menu description.
Overall, the lack of communication regarding the dining benefit created unnecessary confusion and has resulted in a significant amount of time on my part trying to sort out billing issues after returning home. This was frustrating and unfortunately left me with a disappointing overall impression of the experience.
Thank you for the opportunity to provide feedback.
Excellent location for a conference. Super facilities, and close to things I wanted to see in the city. The room was quiet, clean and comfortable. Everyone was helpful - real midwestern hospitality.
High quality hotel, excellent customer service. Clean, updated rooms. The steak at Stetsons was perfect! Great atmosphere all around!
