Great Pre-Cruise Hotel
Pros:

Stayed here for a few nights pre-cruise. Very convenient location to the port and the Bayside area (via Lyft, we didn’t have a car). Grocery store within walking distance for last minute essentials. Staff at desk was very friendly.

Beautiful view from our balcony. Pool looked nice but the weather prevented us from enjoying it. Long wait for elevators in the morning, normal for a high rise, but just plan accordingly.

We ate at the on-site restaurant twice and enjoyed it. Convenient with a good the atmosphere, good food and good service. A bit pricy, as is most stuff in Miami.

The only negative thing is that we missed that there was a daily resort charge. We booked/prepaid in full, or so we thought. Upon arrival there was an additional charge of $35/day as a resort charge. It included use of the pool (couldn’t use due to weather), bicycle rental (couldn’t use due to weather), and WiFi (didn’t need). We were already disappointed to have to pay this additional fee, but the fact that we didn’t benefit from it, was frustrating. Upon checkout the desk staff did allow us to use half of each day’s charge as a credit against our meals in the on-site restaurant. They made it sound like it was something special, but I suspect that they offer that as an option to all guests. In the end it wasn’t enough to turn us off to the place, but definitely something to watch for in the future.

Aurea made our birthday lunch memorable!
Pros:

Celebrated Mom’s birthday at the Miami Marriott Biscayne Bay and had an amazing room and wonderful time! We grabbed a great lunch overlooking the boats on the Bay and Aurea, our waitress, made her birthday extra special with a surprise gift!! Thank you Aurea!!

Sadly Marriott is losing its quality standard

The location for taking a cruise

Cons:

The extra charge for the destination fee is abusive. We were literally less than 12 hours at the hotel and it is an obligatory charge 🤬. I prepaid the hotel so that I wouldnt have to pay anything else and surprise!! My kids breakfast and the destination fee

NOT a 5 start hotel ! more like 2 start . I was charges $170 for one breakfast and the rest for facilities and taxes There were no facilities just a small gym and an outdoor poll which was too cold to use in January.
The room , Empty fridge ! NOT even one bottle of water, can water had to be collect from reception! two satchels of coffee/tea, had to ask the cleaner to give me some more ! I always travel 5 star , I paid 5 star but received 2 star . very disappointed.

Come act like a baller!
Pros:

Nice stay at a fun property. Second time staying here. We have a cruise out of Miami and really enjoy staying here. Very close to cruise ships and you fell like a baller when you stay here. Nice rides out in the parking lot. Ate breakfast at the restaurant and had one of the best servers ever. Aurea went out of her way to make sure we had a great experience. Easily one of the best servers I’ve ever had and I eat out a lot. This alone would be a reason to return here but staff is great and really enjoy staying here. My only complaint would be drink prices are very expensive but this is coming from a guy in Ohio. $40 a drink is a little high to me but we are just traveling through and paid it. Still, a great trip. See you next year!

Stand out service
Pros:

Booked for just one night before our cruise. Our room was ready at check in even though we arrived early. The room was clean , comfortable and well appointed. Our stay was really pushed into 5-star territory when we had breakfast at Gold Coast; from the moment we sat down Aurea was available to prepare our table, and checked in regularly to ensure our juices were filled, we knew what the best food was, and that we were enjoying our meal. Her warmth and joy made breakfast a truly great experience!

Best server at the Gold Coast restaurant
Pros:

Stayed here for 1 night before catching our cruise from a nearby port. Wonderful room with attentive staff.
We had breakfast that was included with our stay at the Gold Coast restaurant downstairs. Our server, Aurea, was amazing! So nice and attended to all of our needs. You’d be lucky if you get her while you’re eating there!
