Pros:

All the staff were super polite and helpful. The restaurants that we tried were all very good and the pool area was really good (loads of beds). The gym was superb. The room was spacious and had a very comfy bed. Also had great views of the Nile. I Would recommend

Cons:

On occasions service was slow. This was disappointing as there seemed a lot of staff, most I’ve seen in a hotel.

Pros:

De oude paleistuin met terras, restaurant en zwembad dat het middenpunt vormt van het huidige hotelcomplex is een heerlijke plek om je lekker terug te trekken uit de drukte van de stad. Bediening is vriendelijk en het eten is goed. Voor Egyptische begrippen zijn de prijzen in het hotel wel pittig, maar voor West-Europeanen zijn het gebruikelijke restaurant prijzen. Het ontbijt is heel uitgebreid en goed maar wel duur.

De locatie van het hotel is fijn, op het eiland in de Nijl. Daar zitten veel restaurants en Gizeh is ook makkelijk te bereizen met een Uber. Fijne uitvalsbasis dus voor een aantal dagen Cairo.

Bed en douche zijn goed. Internet redelijk snel, maar wel gelimiteerd to max 3 apparaten per kamer.

Cons:

De inrichting van de kamers is wat gedateerd. Een balkon met uitzicht over de Nijl is leuk, maar er is veel lawaai van het verkeer dus daar maak je nauwelijks gebruik van. Denk overigens dat dit niet ligt aan dit hotel, maar geldt voor heel Cairo. Wel iets wat je mee kan nemen in het wel/niet boeken van een kamer met uitzicht.

Beautiful Hotel, Great Staff!
Pros:

The hotel’s iconic heritage truly stood out, it gave us a real sense of royal charm! The location was fantastic, and breakfast was amazing. Our room, while a bit dated, was clean and well maintained.

Cons:

The one area we’d suggest improving is pool access. since it was cold during our stay, an indoor pool or a smaller, sheltered option would have added to the experience. That said, we had a great overall stay and would happily return!

Lekker zwembad. Mooi prachtig oud paleis. Kamer in nieuwe zij toren wel prima niet bijzonder. Uitzicht op de Nijl maar snelweg voor de deur ondanks 10de verdieping gaf toch best wel wat geluidsoverlast.
