Booking through Booking.com was a nightmare
I was one person but Booking said 2 tried to change no reply
Notified my arrival and departure times via the App no reply no pick up
The hotel is adequate but expensive and not up to 5 * rating
Great location for touring Christchurch, central to both the city centre and the wonderful Hagley Park with its Botanical Gardens. Room was large and well-equipped, even had a small hotplate with crockery and cutlery so we could enjoy snacks in our room. Breakfast offering was excellent, extensive and always enjoyable. Best of all, the staff at Reception and in the Restaurant were unfailingly friendly, cheerful and helpful.
Nothing we can think of.
Emplacement parfait pour se rendre en plein centre à pied par des cheminements aménagés au travers d'un parc ou en longeant la rivière.
Petit déjeuner parfait.
A bit underwhelmed… but happy that an intern helped me out.
I recently stayed at Sudima Christchurch expecting the level of service and comfort typically associated with a five-star hotel. Unfortunately, several aspects of the stay fell short of those expectations.
At a true five-star property, guests are usually welcomed on arrival with attentive service outside, including assistance with luggage and parking. In this case, there was no staff member present at the entrance. The parking area was full, and there was no guidance on where arriving guests could temporarily stop. At check out nobody asked at reception how was your stay. If they had I didn’t have to write this down.
I was initially assigned room 413, where a constant humming noise, likely from rooftop air-conditioning units or a nearby service area, made the room uncomfortable. I was eventually moved to another room after raising the issue, but this required an extended discussion with a hotel intern rather than a manager. In a hotel of this category, one would expect prompt handling by experienced staff, managerial involvement, and some follow-up. None was provided.
The rooms themselves are relatively small for a property claiming five stars, and the bathroom fittings and light fixtures felt fairly sub standard. Breakfast was also quite chaotic and poorly organized. Didn’t get any menu or waiting at the table. Weird. Next day we decided to find a breakfast place outside the hotel.
Overall, while the hotel appears modern, the level of service, room comfort and operational organization did not reflect what is generally expected from a five-star hotel. Based on this experience, I would rate it closer to a 3–3.5 star stay rather than five. Just saying.
Very clean, comfy beds, great breakfast and amazing staff!
There were just a few admin hiccups with checking in and out but I think they have a new system in place.
The SPA was very nice.
Great hotel, new and modern, central location, a bit on the pricey side.
A little bit expensive
Amenities were fine
Our room 310 had a connecting door. First night we could hear the conversation the lady had clearly.
Second night the couple who moved in next-door kept us awake until 2.30am. It turned out to be the worst room we have ever stayed in. Avoid this room if you stay at this hotel!

Modern, clean, friendly staff
Breakfast was average
The hotel room was the best we have stayed in, so spacious and everything was supplied. Thought of everything. Very comfortable and the most amazing products. Kitchen facilities were excellent. Staff were super helpful
