Stayed here for a tradeshow fo 3 nights. Nice corner room. Comfortable bed. Everything in working order in the room. Nice lobby area. Decent lounge for elite members. Excellent gym for a Marriott. Housekeeping was the issue. 2nd day did not show up till after my tradeshow and the 3rd day never showed up. Went to the Elite desk and she sloughed it off that I got no housekeeping and asked if I needed towels. So I had to shelp a bundle of towels to the 41st floor. This would never happen in Europe but this is fbe USA and the Gen Z’s are working the desk.
Prime location for food, shopping, and entertainment.
Was only able to turn on heat setting in room, it was in the 60s outside so the room was 86 degrees when we entered and only got as low as 73 degrees for our stay ( after propping the door open) The shower was also disappointing due to the fact that the shower head had zero pressure and the bathroom had no ventilation so with it being 80 degrees in the room this was extremely uncomfortable.
Poor layout. Poor food choices. In room QR codes gave errors. Could not order room service. TV remote did not work well at all. Could have stayed at motel 6 instead
We went to Chicago for the St Patty's Day celebration. The hotel was nice. Not being from Chicago I found the directions to the hotel slightly confusing. They take you to the front of the hotel and to valet park you need to be in the back. I asked for direction from an employee, but he was confused how to get me to the back of the hotel. Once we figured out how to navigate the lower level of Wacker St we found the correct location. $80 a day for parking is steep but it is what it is.
The hotel had a Starbucks inside and a nice bar. The room was good and the view we had from our room was amazing! The bedding was great and we enjoyed the hotel!
PS. Once is enough to see the St. Patty's Day festivities. Too many people and too many drunk kids.
Our room was a perfectly adequate standard big city Marriott room with updated bathroom and shower. We travel a lot and I always read TripAdvisor reviews ahead of each trip, but I rarely write a review. The most remarkable part of our stay at this hotel was being greeted by every single hotel staff person we encountered from the front desk staff to the maintenance staff just passing by us in the hallway. Also, the gym was terriffic, and it was nice to be able to open the window in our upper floor room just a little.
This hotel offers a central location to downtown Chicago on the famous Michigan Ave close to lots of restaurants, shopping, and Chicago sites. A gem of a place!
Location
- 5 ⭐️
- Location is fabulous if you are looking to spend time on Michigan Avenue, visit Navy Pier, do a tour of the Chicago Riverwalk or do many of the sites Chicago has to offer. I would come back here again.
Service
- 5 ⭐️
- Staff thoughout the hotel were friendly, helpful and never made you feel rushed if you needed their help.
Rooms
- Rooms are spacious and offer great views of the city.
- Rooms were clean and provided all the standard features like a mini-fridge, desk and small closet.
- Bathrooms are small and don’t offer much space to move around.
Amenities
- No swimming pool
- Fully equipped gym with all the equipment you would expect in a proper gym. There is also a fitness room that hosts classes.
- This hotel definitely caters to business travelers.
Club lounge
- We have used many club lounges across North America at various Marriott properties. This one was disappointing as it was fairly small, and the options that it offered were limited.
- The hours were quite restricted. Only open until 9:00pm Mon-Thurs and Fri-Sun they only offer breakfast and then close by noon with no access the rest of the day.
Parking
- Valet parking is available.
- Self-park is at a lot offsite but just down the street at a cost of $62/day with in-out privileges.
Downstairs lobby was so relaxing and fun during St Pattys weekend. Had the same view they showed in the flyover!
The toilet acted weird. Didn’t have water running to it properly. We were given the wrong beers which was an issue given how much we were charged.
The service and friendliness of the staff was phenomenal. Especially Ralph at check-in, Mason at the bell station and I believe his name was Jordan, at the bar.
Nothing that I can think of.
Location
The bathroom is very small, and the beds are smaller than expected, which made the room feel a bit cramped.
Unfortunately, the noise level was a problem during our stay. There were people shouting in the hallways late at night, which made it difficult to rest. The reception area was also very crowded most of the time, making check-in and general movement through the lobby less comfortable.
No heat in room. Thermostat broken
