A pleasant stay in an excellent location near railway station with good staff service
Pros:

The staff service was very good, although the breakfast was quite mediocre with very few Western options, and curry for breakfast is not always useful. The room was large and clean and comfortable with a good bed. The Indian style of washbasin without a plug/stopper was irritating to Western culture as one could not fill the basin to shave in the morning!

Generally the standard of fodd was not very high

Easy Stay, Seconds away from the train station
Pros:

Hotel Excellency was a lovely place to stay. I especially loved using the pool on the roof - reminded me of swimming back home. Perfect location being right at one of the entrances to the station. I also liked that rickshaws are waiting right outside, so theres ease of travel. I got dine in meals which were fantastic. I’ll book there again if I’m ever back in Bhubaneswar.

Had it not been for its positional advantage the hotel would have gone empty
Pros:

Rooms and breakfast was good

Cons:

Very non cooperative staff . They did not have their guest list updated and made us wait outside their gate in the early morning hours . Their policy of not having 24 hrs check out when most trains arrive at BBS early morning or depart late in the evening can only be justified with their intent to fleece customers
