Excellent location, spacious rooms, and friendly staff
Pros:

We had a great stay at the Kimpton De Witt. The location is excellent, making it easy to explore Amsterdam on foot. The hotel is just a straight walk from Centraal Station, which makes arrival and departure incredibly easy. Canal cruises are only a few minutes' walk away, and there are plenty of shops and restaurants nearby.

The staff were consistently friendly, welcoming, and helpful throughout our stay, and our room was spacious, modern, and clean.

The only area that fell a bit short for us was the café. It was okay at best. We received complimentary breakfast and dining credits through our Chase card, so it was a convenient option, but it's not somewhere we would have chosen to pay for separately.

Overall, this was a great hotel in a fantastic location, and we'd highly recommend it to anyone visiting Amsterdam.

Wonderful
Pros:

The location is very good in the central area. The room perfume smells really nice, at the checkout we received a mini bottle as a gift from the staff. All the staff is friendly and kind.

Pros:

Staff attention and helpful attitude. They came to collect our luggage when we just arrived on the street from the taxi. The check in was really fast. The baby cot was cutely organised. The facilities were clean and well maintained.

Wonderful, well located hotel near Central Station in Amsterdam
Pros:

We were on a post cruise extension for two nights after a Viking Rhine River Cruise. The hotel is perfectly located near Central Station and many restaurants. The rooms had all the amenities needed for two nights. Excellent service and we loved the free happy hour from 4PM - 5PM.

Perfect location
Pros:

Brilliant hotel sat within 10 mins walk from Central train station. Staff were extremely polite and helpful. We stayed in executive adjoining rooms with our children and they were great. Plenty of room, air con worked very well, iron and ironing board available, quality toiletries. My Sons told me the Wi Fi was fast which is a thumbs up coming from them. The canal boat tour arranged directly with the hotel was superb, more expensive than a large group tour but well worth it. We spent time in the bar and cocktail bar and had breakfast in the restaurant.

Comfy room but disappointed with customer services for billing error encountered
Pros:

The room was reasonably clean and comfortable, equipped with functional air conditioning and tea/coffee facilities.

Cons:

While the physical room was perfectly fine for a short stay, I had a major issue with customer service. The day after checking in, I noticed an unauthorized charge of €238 on my card. When I raised this with reception, they admitted it was their mistake but were very casual about it, simply saying, "sorry it was our mistake," and stating the refund would take 3-5 days.There was no explanation for the error, no apology, and no offer of compensation (e.g., free breakfast) for the inconvenience. As I was only in Amsterdam for a few days, this tied up my spending money. I would advise other travellers to check their bank statements closely during their stay.

Fantastic
Pros:

This was one of the best experiences I’ve ever had at a hotel. Staff were nice. Rooms were lovely. Terrific central location. The cocktail bar was exceptional. Every cocktail I had was delicious even those I thought I wasn’t going to like. Don’t miss happy hour! I would 100% go back if ever in Amsterdam again.

Great pick for Basel Hotel
Pros:

This is a great hotel if you want to be off a main square but have access to all the sites in Amsterdam. We stayed two nights. Go on their canal ride! Antique boat with just 12 people and great guides. Breakfast was not included:( but there are plenty of restaurants in the area. If you want a SUPER quiet room ask for the back tower. We could not cool down our room enough even after leaving our card in the device at the door. So if you prefer a COLD room, ask for that. The rooms are dimly lit so be prepared to know that. We suggest that they add a second fixture in the bathrooom and also a safety bar for getting in and out of the shower/tub. Beware that this is a well used cruise ship hotel so you won't be alone at their fabulous happy hour from 4-5pm.
