Solid Hotel, Excellent Location
Pros:

Great location right on the other side of the Damrak, Amsterdam’s bustling main avenue. This hotel is a quick five minute walk after you get off the train at Amsterdam Centraal, so you have a very easy connection from the airport or train lines.

Service is straightforward and friendly. The rooms themselves are very nicely functional, clean, and designed simply with fun nods to Dutch culture.

There is an afternoon happy hour where beers and soft drinks are served complimentary to guests.

Overall, I found this to be an excellent home base in Amsterdam and I would stay here again gladly.

A superb hotel
Pros:

We had this hotel booked through our travel agent and yet it proved to be one of the best places we ever stayed. He had a premium bump above the bar. It was large, spacious and had a well appointed bathroom shower. We were amazed at the tiles on the walls and the floor! The bed was wide and comfortable and the pillows were awesomely comfortable. We both slept very well. Breakfast was part of the package and there was a wide spread a variety of food for all tastes in Celia‘s restaurant. From serials to muesli to fruit to yoghurt to a cooked breakfast cheese and ham. The list went on and on. Fabulous and engaging reception staff with a shout out to Georgia. And in the Restaurant Lulu. The concierge Service could not have been more helpful booking meals and assisting in every way. Truly a memorable visit and well worth the money paid.

Cons:

My room, 436, was located next to the lift!!!!!
So all night, I heard other guests on the landing,
on their phones, closing doors etc!!!
+ the guest in the room above me,
kept closing draws, doors loudly etc!!!
The disruption was that bad,
I only stayed one night!!!
instead of the two that were booked!!!

Dommage que les fenêtres de l'hôtel ne s'ouvrent pas. Il paraît que c'est partout pareil à Amsterdam dans les hôtels ??? Pas certain.
Donc il faisait un peu chaud dans la chambre sans possibilité d'aérer.
