A wonderful stay at the Kimpton De Witt!
Pros:

My wife and I had a great stay at the Kimpton De Witt at the end of May 2026. From the moment we arrived and a member of the staff helped us with our luggage until the day we left in a taxi arranged by the hotel staff, all went smoothly. The women at the front desk who helped us check in and check out were very personable and professional. Our booking included the breakfast buffet at the hotel restaurant Celia. We were surprised by how many different choices of food there were and how good it all tasted. With eggs made to order, fruits, sausages, breads, cakes and other items to partake of, my wife and I always left with full stomachs and usually were able to skip lunch. In addition to the great food, it must be mentioned that the people working in the restaurant also need to be commended. From the women in the blue blazers, to the wait staff, to the line cooks, every individual we interacted with was very friendly, cheerful and helpful to us and making each breakfast a good experience to start our day. The Kimpton is also well situated in Amsterdam. It is very close to the Amsterdam Centraal train station which allows for trips to other nearby towns and cities as well as the airport. It is also very near to tram lines which can make trips to various Amsterdam tourist spots much easier than walking there. Many restaurants are also located close to the hotel. Based on our experiences during our visit we would have to recommend the Kimpton hotel to anyone visiting Amsterdam.

Our room's AC didn't seem to work properly. We asked the front desk and though a technician came to check and supposedly work on it, it still didn't work. The room was warm even at night.

Pros:

Location, friendly staff.

Cons:

It was overpriced. It should not be rated 4.5-5 stars. Was not luxury. The room had cheap furniture. That may have been consistent with the overall style, but room and bathroom were also small.

Exceptional location, Upscale amenities, Amazing staff!
Pros:

-Location is excellent! 5 min walk from Centraal station and walking distance to pretty much everything!
-Exceptional service from the lovely attentive staff
-Our room (Premium King) was quite spacious, the king sized bed was HUGE, and the bathroom was ideal
-The downstairs bar was top class, drinks were so good and the service was great!
-The lobby cafe with that green overhead planter area was so lovely, a nice relaxing space.
-Lastly, the team went above and beyond to make our anniversary trip special with a few added touches (free bottle of champagne, two complimentary drinks from the bar and a lovely card from the staff) which were very much appreciated!

Cons:

The breakfast (included in our selected package) was very mediocre. After the first morning we did not both to return. The service was very slow and the options were not very notable for such an upscale hotel. I tried multiple options- Eggs, coffee, baked goods, the hot food bar, and none of those tasted good enough for me to want to repeat that breakfast any other morning :(

It was great, but what makes this hotel really special is its location.
Pros:

The location was perfect and the possibility of using the hotel bikes is awesome and very useful. The hotel is super clean and the staff is very kind and professional.

Cons:

The lights in the bathroom are so bad that the ladies simply cannot do their make up.

Clean, comfortable, and effecient
Pros:

This hotel is right next to central station. The staff are so friendly and welcoming. The breakfast service was exceptional. The rooms well appointed with even a yoga mat. The beds were comfortable and we highly recommend.
