Highly recommended!!! Short walk from central station and lots of restaurants and shops. Right on multiple tram routes. Large room & bed. Plus EXCELLENT service (specially Lorena).

Great location
Value for money isn’t great
Room was spacious even when we added a roll-away bed. Staff were very friendly and efficient.
Hotel breakfast was €33, so we didn’t partake, but plenty of options close by.
Really nice hotel in a good central location. Only stayed for one night for work, but the room was large and well laid out and the staff were very friendly at check-in and check-out. Would happily stay again for both work and personal trips.
When most hotels go out of their way to say yes, Kimpton de witt has no problem saying no. Not a single person offered to take our bags or deliver them to our room when we arrived or departed. Had a $180 credit with my booking, but was told it was limited to only food and beverage, and not the thing I actually needed, which was laundry. Took 3 tries to get laundry bags sent to my room. When I finally went to the front desk, after realizing that I would be using them for a 3rd party laundry service, they offered me 3 clear trash bags as a replacement. The room was OK, but the first night, the turndown guy came by and basically told us we didnt want turndown service. Just bad service all around. Was going to try breakfast one morning, but the hostess was moving as slow as humanly possible, with a line out the door. So we had to forego eating before a 50km bike tour. Unless youre staying here to be in the center of Amsterdam, I'm sure you would find better service pretty much anywhere.
Clean nice lactation near to the metro and tramb..the staff is very nice people
..
The location gives many points to this hotel. Its a fairly new property and staff is lovely. Breakfast can be far better. Rooms are good enough.but both rooms and Bathrooms could have a bit more shelf space
Bonne literie, le calme, la propreté
Chambre très sombre peu de lumière
Hoy
El desayuno está un poco mal organizado. Paciencia con el cafe.
Staff are so friendly and considerate. Centrally located, although this can also be a downside as there is noise outside. The food at Cafe Celia is good.
Badly maintained over the years so you have scuffed furniture and walls, stained carpets, old and hard linens/towels, badly scratched floors and I even had a bathroom with mouldy tiles. Cleaning isn’t great - there’s hair in bath and the limescale/grime in showers is bad. Definitely not what is expected of a 5* hotel with rooms of over 500€/night during peak season.
Centrally located which also means noisy bedrooms.
What a wonderful hotel. It is located just off one of the main streets in Amsterdam, close to so much of what the city has to offer. We were within walking distance of everything going on, yet the moment we stepped inside, it felt like we had been transported into a calm and relaxing space.
The rooms were clean, comfortable, and very well kept. The staff was also wonderful. From the moment we arrived, they greeted us kindly and treated us like friends.
It was quiet, welcoming, and the perfect place to stay while visiting Amsterdam. We would gladly stay here again.
My family and I came to Amsterdam for Spring Break for our first visit to the Netherlands. I booked the Kimpton De Witt on the Amex portal as it was one of the few hotels that had a room that could accommodate 2 adults and 2 children. We had a room with 2 double beds and appreciated the location of the hotel being central. We had traveled to Amsterdam by train so it was a quick 5 minute walk from the train station, but we had large suitcases and struggled on the walk.
Overall, the hotel is very lovely and the staff are amazing. The breakfast buffet was in the main restaurant and had options to order eggs, omelets, and poffridges which my kids loved. The cocktail hour in the evening is also a nice treat. Highly recommend this hotel!
The rooms were beautiful, the location was very close to Central Station, trolley stop right outside, the staff was very helpful, and social hour was a very nice touch.
We appreciated the location being near the heart of Amsterdam, within walking distance of the central station and Dam Square. The staff were all friendly and professional, especially those at the breakfast. Although there were only two lifts, the waiting time is very short. I liked the decor in the room, but my partner was a bit spooked by the weird paintings and statues. Reusable water cartons are restocked daily which we made use of both in the room and as outdoor water bottles. The shower had great temperature control and high water pressure which made it pleasant to use.
The main reason for our lower rating is the cleanliness of the room. For a 5-star hotel, we were surprised to find some kind of grime on the drawer handles, discolourations on the couch fabric and spots on our pillowcases on some days, as well as a coloured red/brown stain on one of the hand towels. See the provided photos for evidence. It was an inconvenience that housekeeping would not replenish the tissue box in the toilet if they found it empty, and we had to manually request it on several occasions. The bathroom lock also didn't work. The kitchen closes in the evening and has very limited in-room dining options past a certain hour.
Very noisy room
My wife and I had a great stay at the Kimpton De Witt at the end of May 2026. From the moment we arrived and a member of the staff helped us with our luggage until the day we left in a taxi arranged by the hotel staff, all went smoothly. The women at the front desk who helped us check in and check out were very personable and professional. Our booking included the breakfast buffet at the hotel restaurant Celia. We were surprised by how many different choices of food there were and how good it all tasted. With eggs made to order, fruits, sausages, breads, cakes and other items to partake of, my wife and I always left with full stomachs and usually were able to skip lunch. In addition to the great food, it must be mentioned that the people working in the restaurant also need to be commended. From the women in the blue blazers, to the wait staff, to the line cooks, every individual we interacted with was very friendly, cheerful and helpful to us and making each breakfast a good experience to start our day. The Kimpton is also well situated in Amsterdam. It is very close to the Amsterdam Centraal train station which allows for trips to other nearby towns and cities as well as the airport. It is also very near to tram lines which can make trips to various Amsterdam tourist spots much easier than walking there. Many restaurants are also located close to the hotel. Based on our experiences during our visit we would have to recommend the Kimpton hotel to anyone visiting Amsterdam.
