Pros:

The hotel is well located, close to the train station and within walking distance of plenty of restaurants.

Cons:

However, noise from the construction work next door, starting as early as 5 a.m., made the stay uncomfortable, and the housekeeping service was disappointing, with the room still not cleaned by 4 p.m. and towels and water needing to be requested. The following morning, a member of the cleaning staff attempted to enter the room abruptly(before 8am) without knocking, waking us with a start; fortunately, the door security latch prevented entry.

We have used your hotel twice and will be using it again in the future!!
Pros:

The room temperature was perfect. I appreciated that the HVac system was not noisy. The room was clean, and we had plenty of room to store our belongings. The location of the hotel was ideal for sightseeing, with easy access to the T, shopping, and great restaurants. The staff at the front desk and at the restaurant were helpful and friendly. The rooms and meals were reasonably priced. And the doormen were a nice touch:)

Cons:

The bathroom could use some ventilation. The windows need blackout curtains that close completely. I had some trouble blocking out light from nearby buildings.

This was a good place to get away while my daughter had Columbus Day off from school and work.
Pros:

We liked the food and service at The Dean's List downstairs. We wound up eating breakfast there all 3 mornings we were there.
The front desk staff was very friendly and pleasant and the gentlemen by the door were friendly and it was very reassuring to have them there when coming back to the hotel at night (gave a sense of security).
We liked the location being a close walk to the "T." We wound up taking the Red Line (to Harvard Square and Davis Square) and the Green Line to the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum. We also walked quite a bit.

Cons:

Re: bedding. The beds were pretty comfortable but we could have used more / heavier blankets. Even after adjusting the thermostat, we still felt a bit cold. If you're traveling by car, I'd recommend bringing some extra blankets from home.
The construction across the street is still going on but it seems to be progressing. If I'd thought of it, I might have tried to get a room facing in the opposite direction, but it wasn't a big deal. It was definitely better than it was a year ago.

An old, not well maintained property whose rates are excessive for what you get.

The location was good and the staff were friendly.

Cons:

The property is dated and hasn’t been well maintained. The mattress should have been replaced a long time ago and was terribly uncomfortable.
