Kite Lodging

The facilities and the size of the appartment were great. There is a living room, a kitchen, utensils, a freezer, and everything that you expect in a homestay. It was a great stay for our family.

I was going to stay in this hotel coming first time into Hurghada, I reserved the stay more than 2 weeks prior. At first they weren't responsive and turned out the receptionist barely speaks English. On the booking site there is a airport transfer option and after using google translate and whatsapping in Arabic, they responded to take Uber. Coming quite late and as a solo female traveler, it was already bad enough, but I couldn't cancel.
After arrival they gave me a room which looked like a spare room, nothing I reserved. It did not had balcony, kettle, bath tub etc., was quite dirty and smelled from cigarettes. I had 6 days booked and even not needing much there are some things why I book stays, which were not provided. They told me that I can move to a room I booked in 2-3 days, without offering compensation, so I refused and I left on the next day. I had an Egyptian friend there to talk with them, because before that they didn't even bother. First I asked them to cancel with booking, so I could get my refund, but they refused. So they agreed they will provide a letter for booking to explain the situation. Later when I stayed alone, they called the owner, probably trying to scare me and he refused to provide proof for cancelation but still told me, if I cancel with booking, they will confirm it. Nothing of that happened and booking.com said they didn't get to mutual agreement and did not refund me anything.
This place doesn't worth the stay and also should not be advertised as it is, especially on booking.com. They did not allow me to write a review on their web. I still have a dispute with booking, as they procedures are on the edge of being legal. Basically both parties pointed fingers to the other, that one couldn't refund me, because the other had the money and reverse. I don't even know who ended up with the payment at the end, but surely none of them where treating me as a customer who paid for a service and they just went on with they scamming businesses. Not mentioning all the stress from the situation.
So especially as a solo traveler, I would be more cautious next time, also with booking.com.

Don't be fooled by Booking.com's false and misleading photos, Kite Lodging is nothing like what you see in their pictures. Please view the photos included in my review. They are exactly what Kite Lodging truly is like. The following is exactly what we experienced. At Kite Lodging, water was leaking on the bathroom floor, and we had no hot water for 19 days. The pillowcases were dirty and hair and bed bugs were on the mattress. The wifi was almost nonexistent. The apartment was filthy with mould and mildew everywhere. And there was dust and dirt on everything; Also, there was no oven, no washing machine, no breakfast and no hot tub as falsely advertised. The garden view is a rundown neighbourhood with litter everywhere. There are wild street dogs that bark all night, keeping you awake. The hallway has rubbish overflowing and the odour is nasty. This is the filthiest old rundown disgusting place we have ever stayed. If this were in Europe, the health department would close them down for numerous health violations. I advise anyone that is thinking of staying at Kite Lodging to run as fast as possible to get away from this filthy old rundown dump. Be very cautious of some of the people who are giving Kite Lodging a good review, take note that some of them only stayed just one to a few nights and give little to no description with none of them posting any pictures. They are either fake or people who come from a similar filthy environment that can tolerate these kinds of horrific conditions. Believe me, Kite Lodging is exactly as I described in my review again, look at the pictures I attached. they tell the truth as pictures never lie. The bottom line is that kite lodging is so bad it should be condemned and shut down as it's not suitable for human life. Kite lodging is not taking this seriously. This kind of filthy environment is a health hazard, therefore a very serious matter.
