The great customer service
Everything was wonderful
This hotel is most definitely a 10 out of 10, from the door greeter to the front desk! The customer service is amazing! They definitely make you feel welcome! I dine with the hotel restaurant my first day omg the bartender Myra is top notch! She definitely makes wonderful drinks but it was her customer service that stood out and made me want to come back! The manger Michelle she was so welcoming as well. You can tell Michelle top priority is to make sure her guest
are comfortable! She speaks with
Warmness like she cares and that stood out to me! Because you hardly see that anymore! Myra and Michelle made my stay wonderful! I will definitely be back to visit!!!
Location. Expensive parking.
Less than one star. Past experiences have been decent at best. The vibe this time seemed as cold as the shower on our last trip. We were celebrating a friend's birthday and should have known that the descent price was too good to be true.
It was not a convenient location if you trying to stay downtown. They advertise their shuttle as a convenience, but I would definitely Uber. The driver was nice, but you still have to walk for blocks. It was freezing and when they finally came to get us, these rude guest cut in front of us and it was not a comfortable ride back.
The guy at the front desk was not engaging at all. In the past, the clerk would always speak. The last lady was polite, welcomed us back, and asked if we needed anything to improve our stay. He didn't take time to look up from his phone to acknowledge who was in the lobby. When we asked for more towels, he huffed and acted as if we were bothering him. We tried to lighten the mood by asking if his security team was on break because he was slumped over asleep in the chair. He didn't act like he even noticed or responded to what I said. As we were walking off, I told him to let the guard know that there were homeless people outside ( evidently with their pet skunks) asking for money. He didn't think it was very funny. It just seems dirty and rundown from the last time we all stayed there.
The hallways was noisy. We complained. Outside the traffic was noisy. Hard to get a good night's sleep.
On a plus note, it is convenient for the Vanderbilt games and cheaper on off season, but the distance to everything else is very inconvenient. Rooms are dirty - wear your flip flops in the shower and across the stained carpet. Bring your own blanket, pillow, and clorox wipes. Actually with the cold shower water, you would be better off sleeping in the car or joining the homeless camp in the parking lot or across the street at the park.
The Holiday Inn by Vanderbilt University/Hospital is in an excellent location. It is close to everything. It has a great restaurant on-site. Shout out to Fernando who is a wonderful waiter in the restaurant. The front desk is very friendly and helpful as well. Shout out to Shandie who on his first day did a wonderful job getting us checked in and questions answered. The hotel sees a ton of traffic, but they keep it up well.
The hotel is clean, staff is amazing. The shuttle drivers are extremely friendly and awesome! The restaurant attached is good.
This is my second time staying here. Once because I have as having surgery at Vanderbilt, this time an entire weekend for a concert. Both stays my only complaint about my stays here is there is never hot water for a shower. The sink is always hot but the shower isn’t. I tried showering in the morning and late at night. Always cold not even luke warm.
We checked in and had very fast service at front desk. The y informed us that the shuttle could take us to Convention Center where we needed to be each day. Depending on the time of day, we either had Richard, or Jim M.. Both were great drivers and know how to get guest to the exact "spot they need to be dropped off". We both walk with problems and these guys really go out of the way to meet guests needs when being transported by the shuttle. God Bless both of them and kudos to the front desk staff members on all shifts. Makes a customer to really want to say good things about this hotel.
The room was nice and the hotel was staffed by some really incredible people. I didn't catch her name but the lady who checked my partner and I in was so sweet. Ferdinand at the Commodore (the restaurant in the hotel) was the absolute sweetest, he went super out of his way for us. The buffet at the restaurant was also super good, I wish I could've gone to dinner and seen the live music but oh well. It's also in a wonderful location. Overall, had a great stay.
We were in town visiting a family member in Vanderbilt hospital and did a walk in to get a room for the night. We were greeted by the most friendly front desk staff member who provided a pleasant and welcoming exchange. I am sorry I can’t remember her name. The lobby was active with local musicians in the restaurant. The parking was safe and the room was clean and quiet. But the most remarkable thing was the breakfast bar in the morning. Wow- what a great way to start our day & Sheree was amazing from the warm / inviting attitude and made you want to enjoy your breakfast. A true example of southern hospitality!
I stayed here for three nights for business at Vanderbilt University. During my stay, I had two showers with lukewarm water, not enjoyable. I also had mixed experiences with the free local shuttle service. One was excellent, I was the only passenger and was at Vanderbilt Medical Center within 5 minutes. The second experience was disappointing and resulting in my arriving 30 minutes late for my meeting. As I stood outside in the cold waiting for what I was told by the front desk as a shuttle that will be leaving at 9:30 am. As I waited with one other person, the driver sat in the shuttle and was busy looking his phone - it would have been nice if he had let us sit in the shuttle and of the cold. Then after waiting for about 20 minutes, the shuttle just left without taking passengers. It would have been good if the driver, who saw people waiting, to let us know he was not taking passengers - then I would have just gotten an Uber and gotten to my meeting on time. Aside from these negative experiences, other aspects of my visit were fine. I did use the fitness center twice, it provided the exercising that I wanted to do.
Room was very clean. Hotel front desk was very friendly and knowledgeable. And our server, Sheree, in the restaurant was very efficient and personable.
Everything was great
We liked the view. The room was clean and comfortable even if small. We truly appreciated the fact that they did not put us into a shabby room just because we traveled with our dog. Their restaurant has live country music performances every evening.
We had to pay for the parking and it was not cheap.
Great , safe location, within minutes of Vanderbilt hospital. Clean rooms, really good restaurant The Commodore off the lobby.
Shout out to Sheree at the Brew coffee place in the lobby. She was kind, had a fabulous smile and was so helpful to me. After a recent surgery, I was not feeling well and was shaky. Sheree took my order and sweetly brought my food and tea to me at my table and later got me a refill and brought it to me again. It’s the little things that matter!
My friend booked out stay a month or so ago for her birthday weekend. Then, the ice storm hit many states, including Nashville, TN, the weekend before we were to arrive. Upon getting into our room (Thursday night), there was barely any warm water. We contacted the front desk and I spoke with Carson. He was super polite, helpful and explained there was an issue with their boiler. I then spoke with Keniya (Friday) and later Hervie (manager on Saturday) and they each shared the same story about the broken boiler being the culprit for no hot water.
Despite the hotel being at full capacity (many residents were without power so they came to the hotel), the lobby being busy and full of pet dogs, Hervie, Keniya and Carson were super agents!! 😂They never flinched, kept their professional composures and held things down like pros!! 😁😂
Every interaction I had with them & observed between them and others, Hervie, Keniya and Carson were always nice, polite and professional. Hervie is a hoot!! Great personality!! And we had great interactions with the security crew: Clay (so awesome), Calvin, Zach, and the shuttle driver, Lewis. Also, one of the room service agents was so sweet (I didn’t get a chance to see her name badge, but short, Spanish, dark black hair in a bob cut & was working around 1pm on Saturday on the 8th floor). Also, the host in the restaurant during happy hour on Friday (short, white guy with glasses and a mustache) was helpful and nice, as well.
It was BRICK COLD outside and the hotel was BUSY, but despite it all, the entire staff was always so kind, helpful and courteous. My friend and I will hopefully be back in Nashville this summer and will definitely stay here again! Many, many thanks to the whole staff for being so on their game when the city of Nashville was covered in ice and snow!!
Also, despite the overload of pets there with their owners, the hotel was always quiet and never smelled like any animals were there! That was HUGE!
(I gave 4 stars instead of 5 solely because we were there for 3 nights and had hot water once (cold showers are brutal!! lol). 😬🥶)
