location
parking was pretty tight and the ceiling of it is giving dungeon-like vibes. The room smelled like it was a smoking room upon entry, It dissipates after awhile but definitely noticeable when you enter the room.
Parking is a rip off
Looby and elevators are very dirty and gross.
The staff right from the front door man to the staff at the front desk were absolutely stellar. The kindness and generosity while caring was extraordinary. The front desk also heard it was our anniversary and we were given a gracious gift of free parking when they didn't have to give that.
Our Executive King Room appeared to not have been used in a while and this is a housekeeping issue. There was lots of dust on the counters and the bathroom sink had not been cleaned. It had makeup and old toothpaste in it. The mirrors also had toothpaste splatter. There were also old rose petals (fake) on the floors under the desk that had been missed but was obvious.
There are certainly positives—the location, views, friendly staff and breakfast—but the property is clearly showing its age and needs significant attention to maintenance and room upgrades. Based on our stay, the overall condition and comfort of the room simply didn’t match the price being charged.
Our experience at Chateau Lacombe was mixed. The location is convenient, the views are great, and the staff were friendly and helpful. The breakfast was also very good, although it comes at an additional cost.
Unfortunately, the condition of the room left a lot to be desired. There was mould on the tiles around the bathtub, the air conditioning wouldn’t cool the room to the set temperature, and the curtain rod actually broke while we were simply trying to close the drapes. The towels were noticeably worn and starting to fall apart from age.
The bed was another disappointment. The mattress did not appear to have been upgraded recently, and we could actually feel the springs through it, which made for an uncomfortable night’s sleep.
For a hotel at this price point, it was also surprising to find no refrigerator or microwave in the room. These are fairly basic amenities we would expect, especially at a downtown hotel charging these rates.
Staff were quick to respond
Bed sheets are not soft enough, requested til 1pm coz I was running marathon but were only given 12:30

The toilet is tricky, it could flush by itself during the night every couple of minutes if the handle is not in the perfect position. This is very annoying.
I liked the room overlooking the river and the room was clean. The girl who checked us in was accommodating and very friendly. The restaurant downstairs was excellent. Menu was a good variety and staff were very
welcoming. Their hamburger was a great recommendation.
Nothing.
Great comfy beds
Hair dryer don’t work and bar fridge is extremely small
