The history, the food, the friendly staff and the massive room. Surprisingly quiet considering it’s next to a busy roundabout!
It’s not easy to exit the property if you wish to turn right out. Of the car park and head to st Asaph.
The staff are very helpful, in particular Heather and Donna. Good choices of food on the menu and excellent breakfast.
All OK but a bit noisy.
Room was lovely .
The hotel was well placed for my work the next day, being adjacent to the main A55 roundabout at St Asaph. Ample car parking. Staff were friendly, polite and helpful. The room was comfortable and free in room wifi. Food in the evening was very good as was the breakfast from 07.00am. I would stay here again, if I am in the area.
The room was a bit tired, but did not deflect from it being comfortable.
Room itself was good. And staff were friendly and did their best.
The room allocation system is the worst I have ever experienced.
After a significant delay while staff tried to work out available rooms on what appeared to be a very unreliable system, I was given a key card to a room that was already occupied. I walked in to find a half-naked male guest inside, which was extremely embarrassing and unfair for both of us.
When I was eventually given another room, I felt anxious that the same error could happen again and that someone might walk in on me.
This is not the first time this has happened at this hotel. A few weeks ago, I was also allocated an occupied room. Fortunately, the guest was not inside at the time, but their belongings were clearly in the room and I had to leave immediately.
This is a serious privacy and safety issue that needs urgent attention.
The room was very nice and comfortable and was beyond my expectations. the food from the restaurant was very good and a good choice of vegetarian food. The experience was let down by staff see below. However the staff member on breakfast was excellent she couldn't do anymore for any of the people for breakfast. There was a lot of choice both continental style and cooked breakfast. Very good
The staff in evening were hard to get hold off to order dessert so I had to go up to them to see Ifthey were still serving they were and took my order. It was a shame because a lot of the tables had used dishes waiting to be cleared away making the restaurant look messy and unclean
Room / Bathroom was immaculate.
The Wifi which was important to me was unreliable.
Nice historic building
All good
Food always good value and room spacious and clean
Nothing
Poor blackout blinds/curtains and a streetlamp outside is a bad combination and that's what I had.
Friendly staff, good location, cleanliness.
Booked a table for dinner as arriving around 9pm after a 5 hour drive, received acknowledgements confirming reservation. On arrival we were told the restaurant stops serving food at 8pm. Then found there was nowhere else to eat in St Asaph, so dinner ended up as whatever we could grab from the local Aldi. This was disappointing as we had passed so many places along the way that we could have stopped at for dinner.
The other issue was that the beds were, shall I say, sub-optimal in the comfort department.
On a positive note, the cooked breakfast was nice, the staff were all very pleasant and the room was clean. (I hate being too negative)!
Nice location
Being disturbed from 6am by noise from room upstairs
