Pros:

Well located , everything in walking distance . Staff were friendly and helpful ,room warm , comfortable and clean
Room cleaned every morning -fresh towels daily too
Breakfast was plentiful and good value

Cons:

Breakfast ended at 9am , could do with being extended to 9.30 or 10am .

Fantastic room excellent location
Pros:

Our room was amazing and spacious we were both very comfortable and enjoyed our time in the room. The staff were attentive, professional and friendly. The location was brilliant, many restaurants, river, cathedral and museums were within 10 min walk.

Cons:

The first night there was the sound of a large bass. From 2.30 am- 4.30 am. Not sure if this was from a club or another room

Excellent location right next to the Main Street and the famous clock. Right in the middle of everything we wanted to do
Pros:

It has old fashioned class and appeal. The staff were lovely to my grandson and I and very friendly and helpful.
Breakfast was lovely, beds were comfy! Room felt cosy
Although the bar was shut while we were there it looked so nice and inviting!

Cons:

There are odd bits that need some tlc like flaking paint on some windows but I like the old sash windows that you can still open. I hate modern hotels with sealed windows and no access to fresh air!
A water dispenser might be nice in restaurant

good for a short break as you are right in town
Pros:

lovely soft pillows and bed comfortable clean room and friendly staff. they did move us to a different room as a tap in basin was hard to turn off.

Horrific
Pros:

Broken glass in room. Drunk guests all over hotel stank of smoke, two single beds put together, ripped curtains and robes, mould all around bath, carpet completely worn through, gaps around doors, windows smashed, no phone in room to ring reception when concerned about guests shouting. Tried to contact hotel via Booking.com and still not had a response. Guests complaining at check in and then check out, a shame on the hotel group as I will never trust Macdonald group hotels now.

Perfect for a short trip
Pros:

The room was lovely, the bed was extremely comfortable, and very soft. We had a delux double, which was fantastic. We had a dressing table, with two chairs, and we had an en-suite bathroom. The room was clean.

Cons:

The first receptionist we met wasn't particularly friendly, but I think she was about to finish a long shift.
Their was quite a bit of disrepair, but it's to be expected from a building that old.
