A localização na cidade é super central! E o edifício é uma obra de arte, pequeno, original e super cuidado, repleto de história e bom gosto.

Es increíble una buena combinación de edificios tradicional reformado con mucho gusto.

Simpatia do staff. Alguém no grupo fazia anos e prepararam uma fatia de bolo com uma vela para o pequeno-almoço sem que alguém os avisasse.

Zelden een hotel gezien met zoveel liefdevolle aandacht voor álle details: de smaakvolle renovatie, het fantastische ontbijt met verse producten, het heerlijke ruikende linnengoed, de ruime kamers, het supervriendelijke personeel etc
De omgeving heb je in 2 dagen wel gezien, maar in het hotel zouden wij wel een week willen verblijven!

We absolutely loved our stay at the Original Douro Hotel in Régua. Its position is perfect for exploring the Douro Valley - right at the heart of the region, with the river, the vineyards, and the hills all within easy reach. It’s the ideal base for anyone wanting to experience the valley properly.

While we were there, we really enjoyed visiting the Douro Museum. A great overview of the valley’s history, wine culture and identity, and they’re only a short stroll from the hotel. We also highly recommend the Indian restaurant on the waterside.

The hotel itself is high‑quality in every way: beautifully kept, comfortable and renovated to a very high standard. It was a great touch to see see photos of the building before the renovation. What made it even more special is its location in the middle of a sleepy, old‑fashioned town. Régua has the sort of shops we remembered from our 1970s childhood - small, traditional, utterly unhurried. It’s absolutely charming.

Overall, we found the Original Douro Hotel to be a wonderful blend of comfort, culture and nostalgia — a perfect place to stay while exploring one of Portugal’s most beautiful regions

It is a beautiful property, well decorated and maintained. The different areas are comfortable and inviting. The staff are extremely helpful and friendly.
