Bed was comfortable. Room was clean, bathroom was clean.

Cons:

My first impression as I walked up to the entry door was not good. The glass was all dirty, not kept clean, the foyer spelt very dirty and of good smells, and was not presented cleanly. Could use a desperate carpet clean. Didn’t feel good about the room at this point of time. Small fridge in the room froze everything we’d placed into it, ended up throwing all our food items out. No toilet roll holder in the bathroom, looked like it was missing and not ever replaced.

Bearable.
Pros:

The hotel is in a convenient location.

Cons:

The linen was clean but the room wasn’t cleaned properly. There was a even takeaway cup under just under the bed that had been missed. The room could do with a deep clean.

In terms of the entire establishment, it’s pretty run down overall, and on approach the first thing you see is guests laundry hanging in windows and the messy kitchen door wide open next to the main entrance. On entry the smell is stale and smells like food. Everything seems grubby. The plastic roses and plants have the opposite effect than intended.

Staff was ok. When I mentioned the leaking fridge in my room—soaked carpet—no one apologised. Someone covered it with a towel no one even checked or offers any consolation.

Adequate room in a great location

The mattress was smaller than the bed base which meant it was a bit of a hazard walking into the edge.

We would go back and stay there as the location is excellent and we like to walk each day
Pros:

Although the Hotel has a restaurant we brought our own food due to special diets. The location is excellent, just a 7 minute walk to the train station (only 3 stops to Britomart central station) and there are bus stops close by

Cons:

Parking is abysmal during the evening, as there is a restaurant and if you go out you will end up having to park in a no park zone (thankfully not enforced!). The duvet and towels were dirty (replaced with brand new ones).

Not great. Lucky only 2 of us stayed otherwise we would of been backwards and forwards to reception.

Only had 2 wine glasses, 2 ordinary glasses and only 1 coffee mug with 1 teaspoon. No tea bags. Coffee and sugar not stocked. Air con not working properly. Hot in room , not able to sleep well. Parking at a premium.

Great Location, Free off-road parking, Good clean room, Good service.
Pros:

The location - Excellent (a 15 minute walk to the Newmarket train station)
The room was a good size, and clean.
We requested 100% Cotton sheets on the bed, and they were fitted - this made our sleeping much more comfortable in the hot summer night.
The Air-con took a bit of figuring out, but we got there in the end - and it was good, too.
Free off-road parking; and the car park we got was a good size - It had double paint lines so that there was room to open my car door wide (I have a bad back so this is important).

Cons:

We had to go down to reception to ask for a second bath towel, and cup and saucer:-- when the rooms are serviced it would be good to have at least two of everything set in the room - especially as I had booked for two people.
NB: The Manager was very quick to get the towel, and show me where to find crockery in the guest kitchen/laundry.
I was able to get two large mugs which were better for us than cups and saucers - maybe put both cups and saucers, AND mugs in the rooms to give guests the choice?

Pros:

Good location to train,shopping & restaurants.

Cons:

The TV didn't work & neither did the 2nd one that was brought in.
There was no toilet paper & no toilet paper holder.
The cups were dirty.
We were asked if the cleaner could come and vacuum after we had checked in.
I won't be staying there again.
