Great place to stay. Great value.

My stay was great from check in to check out, the staff are amazing and the grounds are beautiful.
Pros:

Breakfast was good, wasn't expecting it to be sit down which was really nice. The room was a great size, I was getting married and so I needed some extra room and the king suite was perfect.

Cons:

The bed was rather stiff, was a little sore after a couple of nights and would have liked to have been comfortable for the price I paid but it wasn't the worst I've ever slept on.

It was the perfect location for our touring of the area.
Pros:

We were very comfortable and with the patio area we were able to enjoy evening cocktails outside. We did not dine at the restaurant, but is was nice knowing it was available to us.

Cons:

We would have really like the restaurant to be open for breakfast.

My stay at the Doubletree by Reid Park in Tucson did not meet basic expectations.
Pros:

The pool, breakfast and our server at breakfast

Cons:

We specifically booked a ground floor with a patio so we could enjoy the pool while visiting our kiddo. When we got there, they acknowledged the request and said, "sorry, we gave it away," and put us a 2nd floor room with a crappy AC. So, then we got moved to another room that had a rattling AC. By then, it was past my bedtime and we had to wait for the maintenance guy to fix it. (He was super nice and did a good job.)

Also, they have a sign up that says that they have food service from the hotel restaurant, Javelina, to the pool, but for some reason, they weren't operating. Then, after walking through the hotel to the restaurant to order something to take back myself, the guy who was working/managing the treated me like a total inconvenience. His attitude didn't do anything to improve the soggy nachos. So disappointing.

This was our first and last time to try this hotel.

Cons:

Didn't get receipt when I got the room . I checked when I checked out and was over charged. They refunded me the room money but have to wait to see if I get the other 50 back because it was on the total of the room

Pros:

They seem pretty nature conscious. Housekeeping was done daily. They are generous with cookies!

Cons:

The AC was barely working, even after they sent a technician down to fix it. Tucson in the summer is not the kind of place you want to stay in a room with faulty air. Everything in the room was very dated. There were no ice machines in the annex building, and none on the first floor of the main hotel building, so if you needed ice you'd have to walk from your room to the main building and take the lift up to another floor to access an ice machine. To be fair, they said they're working on that, but getting ice was extremely inconvenient during my stay. The annex building did not have air-conditioned corridors OR elevators, so it was a pain to move the suitcases up and down. They were also extremely inflexible about late checkout and kept pushing the buck to the morning staff to reject the request.
