Hotel Du Pont

This hotel is a fantastic historic hotel opened in 1913 and filled with Gilded Age glory. It is dark and warm and rich. The exterior is really just a block building but inside is another story. We were upgraded to a suite and the room was great but the bathroom was excellent! Lots of marble. We had breakfast in the hotel restaurant - Le Cavalier. It is so beautiful and so French! Breakfast was really good - I had the oatmeal and it wasn't your ordinary oatmeal. Definitely indulge in the restaurant if you are staying at the hotel. We also ordered room service for dinner - we only stayed 1 night while traveling - and the food was very good. We had the charcuterie plate, Caesar salad, shrimp cocktail and cheesesteak rolls (not sure of the name) and everything was very good. There is also a food hall and other merchants within the building, which is convenient. We ended up getting manicures at Currie down the hall from the restaurant. All in all a wonderful, quick stay and would definitely stay again if ever in Wilmington, DE.

I’m 3 nights in to a 5 night work trip.

Every day and every night there has been zero hot water. I’ve logged this with reception and have been told it’s been fixed. It hasn’t.

Numerous other colleagues (in different rooms!) all have the same issue.

There is no sense of ownership of the problem or any apparent desire to resolve it.

I’ve resorted to posting on here as this will hopefully attract the attention of the appropriate people as nothing else is working.

Room was great and everyone was super helpful. I especially appreciated Bruce, their awesome driver.

We love the Du Pont, especially Le Cav which is worth the price of admission

Taron at Hotel Du Pont in Wilmington is truly exceptional. From the moment we arrived, Taron was warm, professional, and incredibly attentive. His attention to detail, genuine hospitality, and willingness to go above and beyond made our experience unforgettable.

We just had one of the most exceptional experiences. Taron Stone is the ultimate professional. He provided exceptional customer service Better than what we had have in decades. Taron ensured that we had a comfortable stay. We travel globally often.. and largely due to Taron’s care, we will count this experience as one of the most memorable! This is not our first time staying at the Hotel Dupount. The hotel management should feel honored to have Taron as their consummate hospitality host.

Beautiful rooms, very peaceful. Beds very comfortable, well appointed and luxurious bathroom. Bruce T., the hotel bellman was helpful and delightful.

What a charming and comfortable space. Beautifully appointed interior. Customer service was great at front desk and especially Bruce the Bellman, he was professional, accommodating and punctual ! Our experience in the dining room was lovely with one exception, which was immediately removed from our bill without asking. Oysters were exquisite, champagne and wine delish.
If I were asked, I would recommend more attention to the phones. We had to repeatedly call down for service from our cel phones.
Overall, this place is a classic.

Shout out to Bruce! Bruce was extremely helpful assisting with our checking experience. He was polite in his approach with our room and bags, but also provided a knowledgeable insight to the services of the hotel. Right off the bat our experience has been enhanced due to his initial introduction to our stay.

What a pleasure it was talking with a hotel bellman named Bruce. He kindly walked us down to the magnificent Gold Ball Room and told us many fascinating facts about its history and the history of the hotel. It made our experience at this beautiful historic hotel so much more interesting and we appreciated how he took the extra time with us.
