This is a big hotel, but it's so big that housekeeping doesn't come even when I requested them to clean everyday. I was there for 4 nights and not once was it thoroughly cleaned. When they did come after I called front desk to specifically request a time for them to clean, they literally left clean towels and that was it. They did not restock the coffee, they did not even change the sheets or make the bed. This was a really poor experience and although they are a recommended hotel by my child's school, the service was lackluster at best. There was no service.

This hotel is very popular for hosting events and conventions; this stay was no different - there was a St. Patrick's Day marathon taking place in the city, so the lobby was really crowded and our king room was taken when we checked in, so we had to settle for Queens. Still very nice, but something to keep in mind.

I stayed at the Hilton Chicago for a conference and had a great experience. The hotel is in a convenient location, so my colleagues and I were able to walk to stores and restaurants. The hotel staff was friendly and helpful. I really enjoyed Carsarra, who checked me in. She was so attentive and kind! She made sure not to give me a room that connects to another, since I was traveling solo (I didn't even think of that, and I usually try to take all safety precautions). She also gave me a number of restaurant recommendations that didn't disappoint (Chicago's food scene is undefeated). My only reasons for giving 4 stars instead of 5 is that the hotel is old, so the rooms are dated and that housekeeping didn't clean my room until late in the afternoon.
Wonderful staff. They were very kind and accommodating. They shared information about the hotel and Chicago in general...transportation, food, art, sites, etc. I was in Chicago for the Power Rising conference. I would definitely recommend this propery and plan to return on my own time.
