Nice location. could have been a better experience with proper staff management and training
Pros:

Beautiful garden with stunning view over the temple of the tooth. Lovely common interiors with large communal dining table, sadly unused.

Cons:

Average breakfast, slow service, everyone squeezed into a small space on the lawn.
Pool beds have no cushions, a strange oversite for supposedly a 5* bungalow.
As in much of Sri Lanka, staff are very willing but untrained and this manifests itself in lack of attention to maintenance and to not understanding or anticipating the needs of guests.

Pros:

It must have the nicest position in Kandy, overlooking the lake and temple. Incredibly peaceful and above our expectations. They didn’t mention that there is now a pool, overlooking the city. An unexpected bonus. Renovated shower rooms in all rooms.

Cons:

The website needs improving with better photos (to do the place justice) and a contact number that works, and an email that is monitored.
Some parts of the bungalow are looking a little tired, just needing minor fixes and a lick of paint.

Old world charm, beautiful location and great staff
Pros:

Staff were great, I wish I could remember the young man’s name. Room was beautiful and had all the charm of a bygone era. One of the best locations for a fantastic breakfast on the patio. Didn’t use the pool but the view was excellent. Not far to walk into town but far enough away…definitely a tuk tuk ride back though, the hill is steep!

Pros:

丁寧なおもてなしだった。朝食も美味しかったし、従業員が皆親切だった。

Cons:

ランドリーをお願いしたところ、最初の約束時間に仕上がらず、チェックアウト直前に届いた。何度も確認した方がいいと思った。

Feels like royalty, thanks to Dananjaya, Chamidu and the whole team
Pros:

A warm welcome from Dananjaya and Chamidu in the evening when we were tired, a decorated happy birthday bed for my wife ❤️ beautiful scenery of the city on top of the hill, excellent breakfast served by our welcoming friends, very nicely maintained garden and a manned gate. We felt like royalty among equals.

Cons:

We were excited to meet a group of 20 monkeys that accompanied us by the pool. Eventually they outnumbered us and kindly but firmly requested us to remain on our sofa’s near the pool to prevent further agression 😂 it was really fun to witness them swimming and diving like humans. Not having the pool at our discretion was a luxury problem.

Lovely and charming boutique hotel
Pros:

Location. View. Gardens. Spacious and comfortable rooms. Very good breakfast.

Cons:

Inadequate hot water. We were disappointed that we could not get the room we booked in the main bungalow — the room we had was an upgrade, but lacked charm. We were surprised to learn that there were no dining facilities, other than breakfast (perhaps the website needs updating). Check-in was a bit slow.

Verwunschene Kolonialvilla in tropischem Garten
Pros:

Ideales Hotel, wenn man Ruhe und Natur schätzt. Unser Zimmer war riesig und gut ausgestattet mit genügend Sitzgelegenheiten und Ablageflächen. Gute Dusche.
Das Hotel hat nur wenige Zimmer, was wir geschätzt haben.
Das Frühstück wird im Garten serviert, ein Traum.
Die Mitarbeitenden sind super freundlich und äusserst hilfsbereit.
Schöner Pool mit Aussicht auf die Stadt hinunter. Ich war immer alleine beim Schwimmen, sehr angenehm.

Cons:

Ausser dem Frühstück keine Möglichkeit für Mahlzeiten. Hingegen hat es in nächster Nachbarschaft mehrere andere Hotels mit Restaurants.
Es ist alles äusserst altmodisch, was aber natürlich einen eigenen Charme hat.
Wenn man Jubel, Trubel, Heiterkeit sucht, ist man hier ganz sicher am falschen Ort.
