Was clean and quiet.
Staff was pleasant.
The room size was horribly small. No mirror on the outside of bathroom so one could do makeup while the other person was in the shower.
No microwave.
You had to ask for everything including a coffee maker and the coffee provided was disgusting.
Away from crowds but close enough walk to downtown. Staff was great. Breakfast was excellent.
Lovely atmosphere and good-sized rooms, great ocean views if you pay for it (‘ocean front’ rather than ‘ocean view’ - the latter could be a glimpse of water if you look sideways.) Also, great views to Diamond Head if you prefer. Lovely wide, uncrowded beach directly outside, with parkland beside it. Locals walking their dogs, surfing. Quite removed from the intense tourist feel of the rest of Waikiki. Terrific eating at the Hau Tree – make sure to reserve breakfast and dinner. I would certainly return if staying in Waikiki again.
We loved it. First time guests and not sure what we were getting into. The restaurant is very enjoyable. The food isn't exceptional (good though) but the setting is lovely. The room was very nice but not luxury but we paid $200/nt so I would say a very good value. The beach out front was fantastic. The sand is really nice and lots of locals come here. It felt so much less touristy than the beach at Waikiki. Some reviews described a dystopian homeless situation in the adjacent parks. Some yes but very minimal and never a safety concern. Someone who doesn't have good mobility might feel a little isolated but we enjoyed being away from the hubbub of Waikiki and had no problem walking 10 minutes to the start of the action. We loved how simple they made pick up of chairs, umbrellas and towels. No signing in for them. Just ask and them pleasantly hand them to them. Two comments for management: 1). Your valet attendants have a serious TikTok addiction lol. 2). Man, so many empty tables in Hau Tree during times we were told there were no reservations available. If this isn't the result of staffing shortages, you're leaving a lot of money on the table through effective reservation management.
Beautiful views, uncrowded beach in front , location very convenient. You get the best of both worlds in Waikiki.
No hot tub
The location is very good, but it's quiet. The staff were all pleasant!!
I didn't have a coffee cup, coffee maker and a water heater, so I ordered it. The coffee cup was unwashed and dirty
The location on the beach was fantastic!
The front desk rarely answered the phone. Tasks were done slowly or not at all. The hotel restaurant had terrible breakfast food.
Everything about this hotel and experience is wonderful. Staff are lovely. Rooms excellent, though this time we went all out and I don't think I want to leave my room! (Well, maybe to go to the beach during the day ). We have been coming here for 25 years and can't imagine staying anywhere else in Honolulu.
A trip to the island of Oahu with business in Waikiki. We actually dreaded having to deal with Waikiki with all the busy-ness, glitz, traffic and prices (we love the Big Island) and wanted a room overlooking the ocean.
Luckily we found Kaimana Beach Hotel. We splurged and booked a corner king room and what a delight!
We were on the 6th floor overlooking the beach & ocean with the lights of Waikiki with the lights of Waikiki and a view over Kapiolani Park into the mountains. What a beautiful room and view. We enjoyed sitting on the balcony morning, noon, and night.
The bed was comfortable and the room was well outfitted (we asked for the optional coffee maker - complimentary). Every staff interaction was friendly with full Aloha spirit - from the valet parking attendants to the front desk team.
And the location - perfect for us! It was close enough to Waikiki but far enough away from the noise and commercialism that now sits on Kalakaua Avenue (I know some love it there). The hotel is right on it's own beautiful beach and Kapiolani Park is just across the street. A short walk on the promenade and you’ve got food from the Barefoot Beach Grill - or walk further into the bustle of the main strip on Waikiki Beach. Only (minor) complaint was that the in room wifi was a bit temperamental.
We will definitely return to Kaimana Beach Hotel
The property is very clean. Is very comfortable and relaxing. Love that it was right on the beach.
