The location is terrific. Can't be beat. That's the only good thing to be said for this establishment.
The room smelled like mold and "rectory." The coffee maker didn't work, and the staff didn't care and didn't replace. The dresser was so dusty we were able to write in the dust. The windows were thick with dust and cobwebs.

This historic hotel is beautiful and the staff is wonderful!
While staying at The Drake, we took the opportunity to have their afternoon tea in Palm Court....it has the most beautiful decor and the tea fare was wonderful....will be one of my more memorable tea experiences.
Also, delicious breakfast in the cafe and good food in the bar area,v with live music on the weekends.
The opulence of the hotel, was not reflected in the rooms. We had a double deluxe lakeview room. The room was not as clean as it should be, but when I gave the feedback to the front desk, they immediately offered to have someone come up to rectify the issue. While our view was fine, the window was dirty, thus not as great a view as we would have liked.
The beds were very comfortable, but other than the opulent lamps, there was nothing else in the room that reflected the opulence of the public rooms.
Having offered this constructive feedback, it does not take away from our enjoyment of staying at this beautiful historic hotel!

Great location and able to walk to many areas of the city also only a 10 min walk to the metro to travel further afield.
Our room was perfectly functional with comfortable beds but a bit drab and expensive for what it was.
