Grand Dame of Chicago in a fabulous location - history in the walls and full of charm
Pros:

Grand Dame of Chicago in a fabulous location - history in the walls and full of charm
Great location - great staff at check in

Cons:

A little dated with fixtures and fittings - frustrating not to be able to open windows in a stuffy (despite aircon) room. Smelled a little damp in closet

Well run historical property near Lake Michigan.
Pros:

Great historical hotel close to nice beach on lake Michigan, main avenues withing walking distance to the River with cruises and much more. We like to have breakfast and dinner with historical setting around us.

Paid extra for a King Suite with Lake View. ZERO SLEEP
Pros:

Very bad night sleepless because of noise from Lake Shore Drive intersection. I paid for a nice room with a view. I never slept because of deafening motorcycle and thinking noise. They have the really old windows with no soundproofing.
Why does the management even rent that room? (429) The room actually shook with the noise. Could they have given me a higher floor or further away from the street, as the hotel was empty—yes. Go somewhere else.

Pricey but worth it
Pros:

First time in the Second City and first time at The Drake. Admittedly, the rooms are pricey. However, the service is great. Tried to upgrade to a corner room with lake view but given a room on Michigan Avenue on the tenth floor, which was quiet and had good views. The location is very convenient. The bar on the ground floor is a great place to wind down the night. The bartenders are top notch. Would definitely consider staying here again.

Historic Stay at the Drake
Pros:

The Drake is a phenomenal hotel. It is elegant, historic, and clean. The rooms are very spacious and it feels cozy. The staff is 5 star and respond immediately to any requests. The hotel has shops, restaurants and a coffee shop on the premesis. The Drake is centrally located to all tourist sites and excellent restaurants. Highly recommend!

Hotel not at all worth the price.
Pros:

Location

Cons:

Hotel needs updating. The toilet flush was incredibly loud. Water pressure in sink and shower was poor. AC could have been better. The whole hotel felt humid including the room. Fan in the bathroom didn’t work. Room service extremely limited. Was willing to upgrade and did so on-line only to be told at desk that it didn’t apply to the room I booked. Told me I should have called to verify. Beds were hard and the linen was rough.

Very hungry and very angry.
Pros:

Good location .

Cons:

The restaurant was closed, so I had to go to the Cheesecake Factory.
I was told breakfast would start at 6:30, but it wasn't at the hotel—it was at a café around the corner with terrible coffee and disgusting sandwiches!
I threw it all in the trash.
I found a hotel at N.Michigan ave ,just 2 blocks from you , that had amazing breakfast and service!!!
Omni Chicago Hotel !
So ,the same day I moved to Omni hotel
It’s a real shame that Drake hotel has gone downhill like this...

Would check other places nearby before I stay there again
Pros:

The location was great. We had to change rooms because the hotel said they didn't have the suite we reserved ( thorugh Booking.com). In fact, they said they didn't have any reservation for us.

Cons:

Front desk staff. German was rude and acted like he was doing us a favor. They stated we didnt have a reservation. We booked a suite for 3 nights. They put us in a queen room that smelled like cigarettes. We got the room we reserved for the second and third nights of our stay. Bathrooms were the same. Small with a tub. The space in the suite was what we wanted but the bathroom was disappointing
