The staff were delightful and could not have helped more. The hotel is a bit tired and the radiator was not working in our room - the receptionist arranged for a portable heater to be delivered to our room while we were out at dinner. The bed was huge and very comfortable. The position in the centre of town could not have been better. The ability to park at the rear of the hotel was an additional bonus.
The room had only 2 electrical sockets which made charging phones etc a bit of a challenge. Shower was a bit weak. The cost of parking was a bit of a surprise at GBP15.
The room was warm and clean. Staff were friendly but didn’t direct me to the lift. The bed was very comfortable.
I didn’t like the fact there was no welcome reception at the front door. The building from the outside is tired and old. The shelves in the bedroom needed updated-they were chipped and the paint was v old. There should be more option of teas/coffees in the room. It was noisy from events lower in the building and I could hear the person in the next room using the toilet!
Central
Lighting n room terrible
Old hotel, not 4 stars
The location
Location good
Lighting in room and bathroom not good
Nice clean hotel
The noise from outside
Staff, Location.
Room very small and divided from its 'private' bathroom by a public corridor leading to a fire escape.
Stay at Mercure whenever in Inverness, comfortable, great location, friendly staff, very clean
Dinning room looking a bit tired needs refurbished and new furniture. Rest of hotel has lovely furniture, dinning room only thing that lets it down.
Location
1. Too much noise in the room until 1am or so (from the pub across)
2. Parking was expensive and also it is not guaranteed!
3. The bath room was very small
4. Shower head height was not adjustable and was set for very short people
5. Chair edge broken
The hotel overall was good. It seemed a little dated from the outside, once you entered things seemed a lot more modern but once in the room, it felt like it was back to being outdated again. The room was fine, fairly simple but did what it needed. The staff were very friendly, any questions we had were answered without any confusion anywhere, the food was great in the main bar/restaurant.
The plug in the sink was fairly tight so the sink kept filling up whenever the tap was on, even though it was "unplugged". Everything else was okay, the bed was comfy, the layout of where one of the lamps were in the room was a little strange as it blocked the view of the TV, which isn't a huge issue but I had to lay the lamp down so that me and my partner could watch. I feel as though the price of the hotel was mainly based on location over the actual rooms to stay in, although I may have just chosen a basic room and the higher tier rooms (if available) would have been different.
It was clean and central for shops
The toaster kept jamming the toast at the back and didn’t drop it down a member of staff had to retrieve the toast for me both days. This is a common fault every day
Location and friendliness of the staff
Looked a bit run down on the outside
Really nice, clean and helpful staff
No complaints
We wre given an upgrade which was a room on the town side which was very noisy into the early hours. Everything is what you expect when having a relaxing weekend break
Good quality hotel bang in city centre. Clean modern room and top quality buffet breakfast.
Nothing
Location was excellent considering l have a bad back and was right in the centre of things.
I didn't like the fact that the use of the cheapest toilet roll is used, it is 1 ply and you obviously have to use more, so in my opinion buy better stuff because it is not the cheapest hotel around.
