Great trip with work colleagues
Pros:

Stayed at the NH Barbizon and had an amazing time. Walkable to a lot of great destinations in the city. Special shout out to Jan who went above and beyond for me in guest services when I was in a bind.

Not stayed, still would recommend with no doubt
Pros:

I haven't been able to stay because of family issues, but still wanted to recommend this place for the incredibly helpful front staff. I believe you spot excellent quality from excellent customer care! thanks a lot

C'était mon troisième séjour dans le même hotel ... Le prix est relativement cher mais c'est un assez bon compromis !

A very good Hotel, situated directly opposite the Central Station,
Pros:

This is a very good Hotel, situated ,directly opposite the Central Stationa 5 minute walk around the canal, to be honest I was worried about train/street noise, but during a 3 night stay, never heard anything, but we were in an internal room.

A pleasant welcome, when booking in, the room was large and well equipped, although it was an over the bath shower, a deep bath, and quite a slippy floor, so a rubber bath mat would be an advantage. The beds were firm and comfortable and come with a range of pillows. There was a USB point built within the European 2 pin socket at either side of the bed, and a USB point in above the desk along with a standard UK square pin, 3 pin socket.

As is common in European hotels these days, the room was not carpeted, but laminated floor boards. The TV had a huge range of European TV channels, including BBC and ITV.

The breakfast spread was excellent, fresh fruit, several types of yogurt, good selection of cold meats & cheeses, scrambled egg, bacon, chicken sausages, grilled tomatoes on the hot buffet, and a menu where diners can select omelettes, eggs Benedict/Royale, poached and fried eggs. To finish off your breakfast were a good selection of cakes and pastry’s, I’d definitely recommend both the apple and cherry tart. The restaurant staff at breakfast were very friendly and helpful, and a special mention to Jan, who always took time to chat.

We didn’t eat at the restaurant in the evening, but did visit the bar, and the staff again were friendly and gave great service.

On the environmental front, the hotel gives a complimentary drink in the bar if you decline room service on any given day.

The hotel is next to the Basilica of Saint Nicholas, 10 minute walk from Dam Square, 20 minute walk to Ann Frank House, 40 minute walk to the Rijksmuseum and a further 5 minutes Van Gough museum. Canal trips can be booked and accessed from the canals outside the hotel. Nearby there are plenty of restaurants.

Great Hotel and I’d definitely stay here again

A lovely stay in the centre of Amsterdam.
Pros:

The property was in a great location. The room was good and the bed so comfortable. All the staff were so helpful and friendly.
