The hotel is an easy train ride from Schiphol airport followed by a 4 minute walk from central station. I arrived at 8am on a rainy Sunday, but was able to check into my room at that time with an upcharge... what a relief after long travel to Amsterdam. The staff were all helpful and friendly. The location is excellent - easy walk to many sights and restaurants.
We booked a bigger room to have more space. Looking back I would have rather booked the basic room because those had windows facing into an inner atrium which was peaceful. Our window was right above a busy street and a pub so we didnt get much quality sleep. The gigantic windows were hard to open and we had to get a support stick to keep the window up. For the money I would expect to at least get a fresh bottle of water daily but no, you only get 1 per stay. Plus our fridge was really noisy. Definitely not worth the money.
Nice location, walking distance to many restaurants and attractions. Bed was nice and comfortable.
Our room had a step down right inside the door, which was not clearly marked. Almost tripped which would not have been good to begin our vacation.
The property is beautiful and well maintained. We enjoyed the on-site bar during our short stay. It was fairly easy to walk to the hotel from Centraal Station, canal cruise options and more. Lots of great restaurants in the area. One thig we did not expect that visitors should be aware of, is that both our rooms had stairs upon entry. One room required three steps up to the living area and the other room required four steps down into the living area. This made luggage management and negotiating nighttime restroom breaks a little difficult for my older travel companions.
everything excellent, room, location, staff
We were over in Amsterdam for a concert so we were only there for two nights. This hotel is in a perfect location for exploring the city, close to the main railway station, trams and metro so everything is on your doorstep.
The hotel itself is very comfortable, the rooms are well appointed and the staff are very professional and super friendly. We did not use the restaurant, but the bar was excellent and the breakfast buffet offered a wide range of tasty option to fuel up and start your day. I highly recommend the Amsterdam Barbizon Place, we will back.
Nothing worth over 650 usd / night
YOU DON’T GET THE ROOM YOU SEE IN THE PICTURES . NO GUEST SERVICE , NO CONPENSATION . They gave me a completely different room than the one booked . When I complained they told me that the pictures in booking.com are from the nicest room but the room I got was within the same category . I wouldn’t have booked the room I got . Not for over 650 USD /night . I had a 4 night stay with 2 kids and was offered to move to the room in the pictures after 2 nights . We didn’t feel like packing and unpacking all over again with 2 babies .
For the whole stay I spent aprox 2600 usd to stay at a different room than I booked , and wouldn’t have booked have I not been deceived . As compensation they offered a free drink which I found insulting . I think a discount on our stay was more than fair but I guess they don’t care about guests leaving happily since they knew all along our stay we were unhappy . Just got offered a free drink and a promise they would put up the pictures of the others rooms in the same category which are not nice looking , not for the rate they charge
Location
Location right in the centre of Amsterdam action.
Attic room with multiple steps between bedroom and bathroom.
The bed is very uncomfortable - hard mattress.
The hotel uses a lot of perfumed products and sprays.
Очень вежливый, отзывчивый персонал, чистые номера, вкусные завтраки и супер классное месторасположение
Breakfast was really good
Room was very comfortable and spacious
We had a very real problem with the first point of contact
He tried to give us another place not in the hotel
We went and a look at it
It was a very poor substitute for what ended up with
He was trying to tell us it was a up grade
We were very disappointed with the way he went about it
When we came back after looking at it he didn’t not want to know us
This really made a bad start to our stay
In the end we enjoyed our stay
That is not the way you operate a large hotel
It is just poor management or the staff member needs a lot of more training
Thank you
