Perfect
Pros:

Friendly helpful reception staff. We were very lucky and was given a complimentary upgrade to an executive room. The room was really nice. Very clean and comfortable. Breakfast was buffet style with a wide and varied choice. Absolutely lovely 1 night stay.

Cons:

Nothing

Pros:

Check-in was smooth. The room was ready and clean.

Cons:

The rate is high for the quality of the Hotel. It looks worn. The fake arrangements at the front desk looked like Christmas arrangements. The fire alarm went off twice during the night, both false alarms. They were experiencing trouble with their systems, so the elevators were not functioning. For us, in our late 60s, it wasn't too bad walking the four flights; however, others may have had real challenges.

Should have been a prefect stay but ended up being a nightmare
Pros:

Beautiful hotel
Welcoming and friendly staff

Cons:

Fire alarm went off 3 times overnight (false alarm each time)
My 70 year old mother who is registered blind had to mange the stairs from level 3 which she found very difficult. Lifts was still not working the next morning but managed to get help with her luggage.
I know the fire alarm alarming isn’t in anyone’s control on till repaired but I felt the communication was very poor around this issue.
Phone at the reception wasn’t answered. Left the building 3rd time the fire alarmed as it continued to alarm went outside with other people. No staff was there to communicate what was happening. I saw there was movement in the reception area to ask what was the situation to be told it was another false alarm that we could go back in I told him there was other people waiting outside he remained in the reception I went told people they could return which that should not have been my responsibility. He told me if the fire alarm goes again to stay in room it would be a false alarm. This advice I feel was concerning and wrong information as who knows when the alarm could be a real situation.
There was no staff around to offer assistance or support if needed nor to reassure anyone that it was safe.
The timing off the alarms caused what should have been a great comfortable nights sleep to be distributed and stressful experience as we’re unable to get back to sleep the later alarm.
I feel staff fire training is needed with in the hotel.

2 night stay for work
Pros:

Bar and restaurant staff is very kind.
Room was tidy, bed should be made nicer, some cobweb noticed behind bathroom door (removed ☺️), generally good, car park surface should be renovated.
Some flat pillow should be provided. ☺️

Cons:

There is no night receptionist on board. I stayed in room 34 and a lady in room 14 was shouting with someone on the phone one of the night for an hour from midnight to roughly 1am. Her room was under my room and I couldn't sleep at all. I gave up and tried to ask help but there was nobody on the reception. So I went to speak to her and ask her to stop. Luckily she listen to me.
Car park surface is really bad especially when you turn off from the ring road in front of the pub.

2.5 star at best
Pros:

This is never a 4 star hotel.
What was to like??

Cons:

The room is old and very dated.
We cut our fingers trying to turn the shower on, then we were scolded as water temperature was ridiculous.
As for Marco pierre whites restaurant it was absolutely terrible, holes in the ceiling and as for the food it was terrible, overpriced and not worth the price paid. Maybe he should pop in for a visit and see how his name is being dragged down.

It was lovely apart from the above
Pros:

Lovely breakfast!

Cons:

The chap who tried to hurry us out of our room at check out was quite brusque and although we were running a bit late, I was trying to help my three kids get organised and I didn’t need any extra stress
