Gorgeous views, quick check in and out services, friendly staff, vintage retro hotel room feels, excellent experience!
Short stay but everything was perfect. Conveniently located hotel and rooms with awesome views of the beach, Diamond Head, and the Zoo.
We love the Queen Kapiolani. We go over from the Big Island about once a month, twice this June. We love the location, staff, and the retro style. It is great place to relax, close to the beach, and within walking distance of all that Waikiki has to offer.
I'd recommend the Tokyo pancakes at the Deck and the flavored mimosas. Mimosas at the pool is a great way to spend time.
We always find the rooms clean, cool, and comfortable. Looking forward to our trip there in July!
We reserved for 3 rooms (2 double queens), 1 studio.
The room where I stayed smelled stale/damp/mildewy. We had to turn off the window AC and open the window to let the outside air clear the smell. We stayed for 2 nights and the smell remained specially if the AC is turned on. This was room 716. Room 705 had a bit of that smell as well.
The staff were nice, my kids loved the gym.
The most ideal stay I could have imagined in Waikiki. It has everything I could have wanted and more. The hotel is beautiful, clean, efficient. The room was comfy and clean. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. The location is perfect being less than one minute walk from the beach right beside all the action but secluded enough to be restful. And the VIEWS of Diamond head are hard to beat. Great value for money.
Confirmed the Mountain View and it was great to wake up to! Complimentary beach towels were helpful. On the quieter side of Waikiki which was nice.
Location and friendly staff
Good location, nice well kept hotel with friendly staff.
Very nice and clean boutique hotel within walking distance to Waikiki Beach and all the restaurants and shops. We stayed 2 nights in a double queen room. Room was small but the beds were comfortable. The lobby area is pretty cool and the staff were very helpful.
We had a good experience staying at this hotel. The location is great, close to the beach and the zoo and aquarium if you have kiddos. I loved that you could borrow beach chairs and towels easily. I first booked a studio not realizing how tiny the room truly was, but when we upgraded to the bigger room, it was sooooo much better. There was a bit of traffic (garbage and delivery trucks) super early and late at night plus from the elevator, but I feel like that is the case at most hotels. We enjoyed our week long stay at the hotel and would consider staying here again. Oh the staff were all super nice and handled my sweet little toddler super well. We were all friends at the end of our stay.
Valet reached capacity … instructed to drive across the street and park in the zoo parking lot for $1.50 an hour. Zoo only offers 4 hour max and i want to sleep. Will i get a ticket over night ? Great way to start my trip…
We are kamaʻāina and wanted a stay cationfor the weekend. We were "upgraded" to an ADA room directly next to the elevators and 20 feet away from the restaurant. The room was not soundproof at all, and because the pool is there too all we heard was children screaming and every conversation at the bar all night. Additionally, the valet was full all weekend and so had to park ~ 10 min walk away each day. Otherwise was close to the beach, far away from the center of Waikiki, but lots of restaurants to try and stuff to do. Wouldn't necessarily recommend to my friends or family though.
Awesome experience! View of Waikiki, clean, attentive and pleasant staff, few minute walk to the beach or zoo.
Gerald was awesome, providing us awesome cleaning services! Great food at the deck. Registration desk was super helpful. And the valet services were great as well.
He is hospitable and kind! Really went above and beyond for us. We are new and looking for a place to stay and enjoyed our stay at the Queen Kapiolani thanks to the wonderful people here. Especially Gerald.
I’ve been staying here for two weeks, and the service is great. Is the first hotel here in Hawaii where the staff is really nice to us, especially the room service guy Gerald; he is very polite, attentive, and helpful with local recommendations, always bringing a warm and welcoming attitude. <3 And the coffee downstairs' at the lobby is great, matcha nearby “As you like Waikiki” the best one.
Great walking distance to everything!! The restaurant and coffee bar here is also so good!!
I think the property itself is great but everything involved an upgrade and paying more. I requested a good view and a higher floor for my bday and first time in Hawaii and I got a high-ish floor (the 5th out of 18+ floors) with a view of other buildings. To upgrade it costs extra per night. To check in early it costs extra too, plus some of the staff here are rude.
I simply cannot tell you how much we love staying at The Queen Kapiolani! The staff are just wonderful! We’ve been staying at The Queen at least twice a year and there’s no other place we will consider!
