Apart from the difficulty with the shower, it was a good choice.
Pros:

Excellent location, corner of Dam Square, just a few minutes walk from Centraal Station.

Cons:

I am 81, and not as flexible as I used to be. I found it difficult to get into the bath so I could have a shower. The sides of the bath are very high.
I had one dinner and one breakfast in the attached restaurant, and in both cases the meals were only just warm. When I returned my dinner, it was no warmer when it was replaced. I didn’t make a complaint about the breakfast, I just didn’t eat there again.

The perfect location for a city break!
Pros:

The location was absolutely superb. Literally about 5 mins walk from Amsterdam Centraal.

Shops, restaurants and everything else you could need for a city break were in walking distance.

Cons:

Absolutely nothing.

The base mattress was very old, had wires sticking out,& when I went to bathroom at night I cut my calf badly , lenght of index finger.. sheet with blood was not changed Following day..nobody cared about safety
