Awesome stay and location
Pros:

Was impressed with Brian David Hilton honors rep and our servers Marcus and John during our dinner. Very professional and kind to us. Wonderful service and terrific stay at this property

It was still worth it for the price and location.
Pros:

Embassy's are typically just nice hotels. It was pretty and the lobby with the sound of running streams is relaxing.

Cons:

The hotel itself was a little run down. We had a popcorn ceiling that was clearly stained; looked like it was from some type of prior leak, or moisture. The popcorn was crumbling onto the floor and one of the beds. Kind of grosse.

Pros:

Proximity to the theater next door made it convenient for us while at a dance comp. The front desk staff was helpful and let me check in early so we had the room during a large gap.

Cons:

The hotel was unaware of the early check in/late check out option that was offered through Booking. Offered me early check in for an additional fee but I was able to show the booking com reservation and the woman at thE front desk adjusted my room to reflect this offer.

When I left the room this morning to take things to the car and eat breakfast, housekeeping almost immediately went into the room despite the 1 pm late checkout. They tossed the items I had left in the fridge before I was able to return and get them, essentially throwing out $30 worth of unused food and drinks.

Pros:

The first time I worked in Downey, I lodged at Spring Hill, which was clean, nice with breakfast. I thought that I'd give Embassy a try (even though it doesn't look very appealing from outside). We'll, the interior is not appealing. Their selling point are two free drinks daily and breakfast, with the proximity of Porto's and the Downy Performing Center/Theater. Other than that, this place needs a complete gutting and face-lift. Outlets with be out, due to old building and circuit breakers. This area needs more hotels.
