Pros:

The location was perfect, the food excellent and the staff helpful and friendly. We also liked the indoor swimming pool. The breakfast is also very good.

Cons:

We were woken up on two occasions at 6.30 a.m. by the noise of hammering and machinery due to work being carried out in the hotel. Given the fact that one of the main objectives of a hotel is to ensure guests get a good night's sleep, we decided to point this out at reception. We were consequently offered a welcome apology and a 40€ discount, which, considering the daily rate at the Phoenicia, we found a little derisory.
We were also somewhat disappointed with our room, which was small by 5-star standards and had a shower in a bath tub which was not very practical.

A beautiful building band an absolutely perfect location.
Staff was nice.

Cons:

The decor is odd. Modern and sparse and really unexpected for such a beautiful old property. But it was comfortable.
It was difficult to get massage appointments and restaurant reservations
