Hilton Orrington/Evanston

I am a corporate travel Manager, so I have stayed many different hotels. I stayed at and had my travelers stay here, I also recently had a group of 45 stay here and received wonderful comments. Some highlights were: The rooms are great and recently renovated, comfortable beds. Rooms vary in size, but all are renovated. The breakfast was great; the bar area was a nice place to wind down at night. Everything is close in the neighborhood, places to eat, coffee, little local stores. Close to the lake for a nice walk Lobby is renovated as well. I was very fortunate to have a great Sales Manager that I must add here Abby Schaubel was a dream to work with. I am very comfortable recommending this hotel for fun and business

First rate experience. Our valets, Steve and Riad were excellent. I would highly recommend this location. Close to beautiful Lake Michigan.

We stay at this hotel frequently and always Valet our cars with Steve and Riad. There is never a worry and service is always top notch.

Both Steve an Raid were fantastic. The hotel was great as well. We have a wonderful weekend.

Steve and Riad are the best valets! They were always ready to help us with anything. We had a lot of deliveries come in while we were there and they were always willing to help us load up!

We recently organized and hosted a large western themed event at the Hilton Orrington Hotel in Evanston for over 300 guests, and the experience was outstanding from beginning to end.

The banquet team exceeded our expectations, ensuring everything ran smoothly. We collaborated closely with Maureen Schoenbauer, the Senior Catering Sales Manager, who expertly guided us through the planning process, food selections, and additional enhancements that made the event truly special.

Our banquet manager, Tony, along with the setup houseman, Stephen, and the valet attendant, Raed, were all exceptional in their roles. Despite a sudden influx of arrivals all at once, they managed the crowd with professionalism and ease. Cleanup was handled efficiently, allowing our team to wrap up without any hassle.

For anyone planning a large event and/or considering an overnight stay, the Hilton Orrington in downtown Evanston is an ideal choice. I highly recommend it!

Sophia works the front desk and makes you feel at home. While I was having a pleasant conversation with Sophia about my visit another guest came along to the front desk and said hello Sophia how are you today.

I was here for the game at the Northwestern and the location is pretty strategic.

I am in Evanston about four times a month and I always choose this hotel. I have developed a relationship with all of the staff such that they greet me warmly and enthusiastically every time they see me. Several times they even have come out onto the sidewalk to say hello. Any time I need something, they are ON IT. In particular, Vanessa, Alexis, Olayemi, Yanisa and Ramdani always take great care of me.

If you are staying to visit the Northwestern campus, there is no better location. It is the closest you can possibly be to the campus, walking distance to everything. It is also on the edge of downtown Evanston and close to many coffee shops and great restaurants. The staff is lovely, helpful, friendly and kind. Vanessa at the front desk made my stay feel like home in so many ways. I have stayed many times and always enjoyed it. The entire hotel recently underwent a renovation, which it desperately needed, and they did a good job with most of the most important things- the beds and linens are nice, the bathrooms have good amenities, though some are very small, the rooms are comfortable, the lobby is a great place to sit, and there are games and couches too. The only reason I didn’t give it 5 stars is because they skimped on the window coverings in the renovation and they let in tons of light, at night and in the morning. For me personally, I hate this at a hotel! But I just bring a sleep mask, and it’s fine. I also didn’t give it 5 stars because some weekends the price is egregious for what it is. I understand it bc campus is so close and certain weekends are crowded, but when the crowds are absent, the price is very reasonable. I just wish it was priced competitively all the time. It’s hard to be forced to pay 4x as much because the university has something going on.

Steve is incredibly personable and a true professional. I am a regular at the hotel and I plan on returning to the hotel because of the great staff.

Northwestern Chemistry hosted a dinner in the Heritage Ballroom last fall. Maureen coordinated details well and the staff the night of were wonderful to all our guests. We will be using this location again.

The Hotel Orrington in Evanston provided exceptional service, food, and an exceptional space for our 350+ attendees. From the moment we met with catering Manager Maureen Schoenbauer regarding our event and the prospect of using the Orrington space, Ms. Schoenbauer was professional, knowledgeable, creative, and generally a delight to work with. Because of her expertise and her excellent staff, our event was successful beyond our expectations. We will look forward to working with the Orrington again for our next event.

We had a great time in Chicago visiting Northwestern to watch my daughter’s boyfriend fence in a tournament. Riad and Steve made us feel very comfortable in a city. We were not familiar with. I felt very safe having them park my car or bring my car back to me and help us load. They gave us great suggestions on nearby restaurants and coffee shops. I would recommend valet parking your car with them just to make your trip simpler

Vanessa at the front desk was professional, fast and friendly. Alexis the Front Office Manager has selected and trained a staff that makes you feel very special ! Best experience! I will definitely come back and tell everyone about Evanston’s Best Hotel !

This location has the friendliest staff, spacious room, and is ideally situated. The staff is attentive and ensures a great guest experience. It is truly such a gem!

I've visited this charming and cozy property multiple times throughout the past year and I wish to encourage everyone with fur babies to choose the Orrington as their destination if you're planning a trip to Chicago.

First of all I love historical architecture and the Orrington has a mystical and old world charm with a beautiful marble floor downstairs lobby, a real fireplace and an excellent restaurant adjacent to it so you don't have to leave the hotel for excellent food if you don't want to.

The entire front desk staff and all the valet, doormen and the security guard make you feel welcomed and special. I truly felt genuinely cared for here with all the smiling faces and sweet front desk wanting to cuddle and pet my shy pyrenees.

I'd like to include the names of the front desk staff so here we go--Vanessa, Olayemi,Ramdani, Alexis, and Yanisa. Victoria and Sophie tend to work in the evenings and leave early in the morning and everyone here makes you feel like a family member not just a paying guest. I felt genuinely appreciated and cared for and housekeeping makes a point of offering service on a daily basis too!

Now let's talk about the location! Downtown Evanston is a college town and within walking distance you will find an all you can eat ramen and sushi restaurant open till 12:30 am if you're a late owl. In less than a block is the AMC theater, numerous coffee shops, restaurants, massage spas and bookstores. Northwestern University is yard's away and if you want to visit Chicago the purple line is literally just down the street. The beach is also within walking distance heading East and a Whole foods is a six minute walk.

The rooms here begin with petite coziness with king sized comfy beds to luxury suites if you wish to spoil yourself or celebrate a special event. There are groups of professionals that book this hotel and very fun events like a father and daughter cowboy themed dance that was held when I stayed.

I love the fact that it's extremely quiet here and the front desk was kind enough to upgrade my room when I wanted a better view of the city.

This hotel is s great value for the money especially because of how close you are to entertainment, grocery stores, pet shops, bakeries, plant and floral stores and novelty crystal and jewelry shops.

Being a guest at the Orrington makes you feel like you're a member of the Evanston community and if you're a book fanatic the Evanston Library is literally across the street.

The staff here always asks me if I need extra bottled waters for my fur babies and there are wonderful parks nearby to take your dog for a relaxing walk.

I thank everyone here for making me feel so comfortable and special.
