It’s nice place but not proactive enough and based on budget we didn’t feel it was value for money.

The key cards kept not working - to the point we regularly had to get new ones The lack of full length mirror in room? There was a small wall one in the bathroom. Bit not good when you are dressing to go out in the evening. The bathroom ceiling fan was not working which left a not so nice smell from the drains etc - we did contact the virtual assistants to address this - however, there wasn’t a great outcome on this. Having to wait so long for an iron (as the description /details implied there would be an iron in the room -) after requesting many times was not great - a steamer was provided instead. Not great when you’ve got to be somewhere and you can’t because we are told someone else has the iron in the building / and might have taken it.

Nous avons réservés une chambre confortable, elle était tout sauf confortable, le lit donnait directement sur le couloir et les escaliers, le sommier bougeait au point de tomber au sol pendant mon sommeil. L’odeur des canalisations… chambre très petite pour ce que nous avons réservé. D’autant que nous sommes des habituées, je n’ai pas compris ce choix de chambre. Ça a rendu notre week-end désastreux

Wir waren eine Nacht dort, länger hätten wir das auch nicht ausgehalten.
Pros:

Es war sehr zentral! Checkin und Checkout war sehr smart gelöst.

Cons:

Der Fernseher hatte keine Verbindung zum WLAN, er war auch nicht zu verbinden. Auch nach Rücksprache nicht. Jedes Passwort und jedes verfügbare Netz war nicht möglich. Für Regentage nicht ganz optimal.

Ich befürchte das Bad hat einen Konstruktionsfehler. Es stank extrem aus dem Abfluss. Dies wird vermutlich an einer fehlenden Entlüftung liegen. Das Bad war dazu innenliegend und es war nicht möglich zu lüften.

Das Treppenhaus ist sehr schmal und hoch. Wir hatten zum Glück nur einen Rucksack dabei. Mit Koffern wäre es vermutlich deutlich schwerer.

Für das Geld hätte ich echt mehr erwartet.

Pros:

I really enjoyed the location of the hotel. It was in a great spot. Check in was available early, which was convenient.

Cons:

Room was advertised as having AC, but the room stayed so hot and never cooled off. It was also impossible to open the windows and get airflow that way, so it stayed very warm and stale. Not enjoyable. There was also an odd smell constantly coming from the bathroom. It was sour and almost smelled like there was some sort of leak that wasn't visible. There is no elevator in this hotel, which is fine, but I should have expected the extremely small spiral stairs up to the rooms. Only 3ish rooms are on the bottom floor. Everyone else has multiple flights to drag all luggage up. Maybe this is standard in Amsterdam, but it was an unpleasant surprise.

When I first arrived the digital check in system was not working which led to some confusion but this was soon sorted out with the staff being very helpful and making every effort to get the problem sorted.

Great room, beware the stairs!
Pros:

We had the room right at the top of this guesthouse and while the room itself was lovely, there was no elevator and we had two 20+ kilogram bags to lug up 5 flights of stairs. Admittedly this was my mistake for not checking, but this, combined with the neighborhood means I wouldn't stay here again. Would be great for a young couple travelling light, but not so great for an overnight stay for one adult and a 12 year old ahead of a biking tour. It is convenient to the main station, but a bit of a grotty neighbourhood. We appreciated being able to leave our luggage after checking out while we caught the tram to the museum quarter.

Cons:

The neighbourhood is dirty and a bit seedy. Beware the stairs if you have heavy luggage.
