We love visiting the Kingfisher! We paid to swim and eat dinner during a brief visit in Jinja. The grounds are covered in beautiful flowers and was a tranquil, relaxing visit. The staff made us dinner and we had drinks poolside. There isn’t a high level of awareness of allergies but they tried to accommodate.
Loud music everyday from 8am. Feels like a party hostel everywhere you go. On the second day we were assured that the "event" would be over in 1h and that next day would be quiet. The following day was an even bigger party on the whole venue.
If you are looking for a party-hostel it is a good place. Facilities are nice, service is good and food is acceptable. Don't expect to relax or have a quiet meal though.
The property was very nice. The grounds were beautiful! We took a boat ride on the Nile and Lake Victoria. We had some difficulties with what the right payment was supposed to be. I would recommend paying at the hotel reception and not in the boating area. There were also some problems with the boat and we had to essentially have another boater tow us along and fix our engine. They were missing some items for breakfast but otherwise it was good. It is definitely a nice and quiet area to stay.

It was more than disappointing. The hotel was completely run down, the rooms were dirty, no warm water at all the whole time, the restaurant was more or less closed and the quality of the ordered food was disgusting!
When I arrived, the entrance was welcoming, manager was friendly and offered to carry my luggage. I was show to the lodge which was full of character, clean and equipped with toiletries. Within the lodge comes a pool, crazy gold, volley ball and the lake which meets the nile. We went on a boat tour which was great. The food was also great with plenty of choice. Great for families and anyone wanting a bit of Uganda paradise.
The property was beautiful very tropical and relaxing. However, the distance from town was a bit inconvenient. The electricity was sold on making it difficult to charge phone.
Everything was great apart from drainage in a shower was very slow; needs maintenance.
I totally had a great experience visiting King fisher , its view of the great Nile and amazing atmosphere. Its one of the best places to sleep in while at Jinja . Looking forward to visiting it very soon
We popped over here for lunch and a swim during a break in Jinja and the grounds overlooking Lake Victoria are beautiful.Having had a big breakfast we opted for a bunch of snacks (beef/veg samosas, spring rolls, a variety of fries, salads etc) for lunch and they were good. Service was pretty slow; we waiting over an hour that the staff even had their lunch from the local place and it looked tastier than what we had. Still, the pool was beautiful, the drinks were cold and the staff did their best.
The place is nice rooms are ok and fairly clean
Staff is not reacting fast with your orders
Food is very bad and always cooked unwell
And sometimes comes filled with insects
Easily to book and prices are fair
Having decided come to Jinja for a break and to enjoy the views of the Source of the Nile I decided to visit the resort. When asked whether we would have a drink, I enquired about the exchange rate (because I only had dollars). When it came time to settle the bill the rate of exchange halved which forced us to pay double the rate for 2 drinks! Management refused to assist and instead insisted on the surcharge. I am appalled.
