Yun Estate Hotel is a wonderful stay for anyone/families/couples/individuals.
Pros:

The cleanness of the hotel and our suite. We chose to stay in the suite with balcony and hot spring in bathroom. Staff was great, Michael at the front desk was my favorite. He had lived in California for a few decades, so needless to say his spoken English was perfect. We had a rental car and were allowed to park in secure garage downstairs. Easy elevator lift up to our floor from parking garage. They had security guard watching cars come in and out. Very safe, but Taiwan is generally very safe. We didn't use the play area for younger children, but they had the whole floor with cars/racetrack/campground with snacks, drinks and sitting area for parents. It would be very accessible by MRT, as well. Hongshuling, or Red Tree Forest MRT station would not be far at all. 5-10min ride with taxi. Pictures are accurate. They also have a smaller, local MRT line just for Tamsui district. Transfer at Hongshuling MRT station. It takes your all around Tamsui and ends at Fisherman's Wharf.

Cons:

Parking spaces during the weekend got a little hectic, but staff help us find a spot. A little out of Taipei Metro, but not much ~10-15 km or 6 to 10 miles, pending on where your going, but with traffic can take anywhere between 1/2 hr to 1hr. Not bad really, just plan ahead and should be great.
