Location - only but plenty of other hotels same price or cheaper which are much better
The young guy on reception was disinterested and grumpy. He told me breakfast was from 6:30 am till 10 so I went down at 9:10 the following morning we met your picture day and they refused point plan to serve me anything not even toast or coffee. I wish I’d taken a screenshot of his translation app because I made a point of going down in plenty of time. I could’ve easily gone down before 9am. Of all days doing Machu Picchu, I needed a good breakfast. We had a long translation up exchange and I told him how unfair it was and that it was very poor customer service that he wouldn’t let the restaurant serve me some food, it was open, it was staffed, the breakfast menu were still on the table and the whole restaurant was completely empty, but he was having none of it. He ignored me for the rest of the stay didn’t service my room had to acquire a clean towel from another room adjacent to mine, he turf me out sooner and he should’ve done for checkout and just completely ignored me when I checked out & said muchas gracias & gave him the key.
The fourth wall of the rooms is glass which has a curtain across it, but there’s a large strip of glass at the top which allows light to spill into your room which is otherwise in pitch darkness, activated automatically when guests walk on the sensors during the evening/through the night which disrupted my sleep badly again. Needed a good night rest as I was a Climate to altitude sickness and I had a long day ahead so it didn’t provide the restful night sleep I was looking for. I’d planned on taking the bulb out, but the design of the light fitting didn’t allow for that. Foiled!
The restaurant bellow, it was part of the hotel and the food was satisfying.
Staff
Centrally located, 5min walk from train station, 5min walk to bus stop, shops and restaurants all within 5min walk.
Nice location comfortable bed
The room roof was covered in black mold and no ventilation for the bathroom
Big comfortable bed, good hot shower.
Access is by a narrow stairs from the street.
The location
The hot water was not working. They do not have window blind for some windows. And the smell of oil
The location
Everything. Rude staff, dodgy manager, poor facilities. Toilet was leaking, jacuzzi was not working and they didn’t have a spare key in case of lost. Also they wanted to charge me the fee from booking which is NOT my responsability and there was more people having issues as well.
The room we had was rather spacious and had a nice balcony. An easy walking distance to the train station even with luggage, although there’re no taxis in the tiny town anyways. Bus boarding line to Machu Picchu is right in front the hotel across the river, just make sure you buy the tickets ahead of time online. Nice staff at the reception
Climbing narrow stairs, although we were helped with our luggage by the staff.
Location
The staff, especially the woman at reception, was very rude. We had no water for two days. Every time we asked her for help, she was dismissive and rolled her eyes. Our friend booked another room for himself, but they scammed him — he paid, never received a room, and they still haven’t returned his money.
Nice rooms, loved the jacuzzi after a long trek. Breakfast was fine.
Takes quite some time to fill up the jacuzzi. The pineapple juice at breakfast somehow turned out to be alcoholic. Not the best pre-workout drink for climbing to Machu Picchu.
