It was very relaxing
The menu was very small not much of a selection. Service was very slow for drinks
We had an “upgrade” but it was a standard room with a balcony I wouldn’t consider that an upgrade
The location, hotel, rooms, food served at wedding, service, cleanliness
The breakfast buffet wasn't great, sausages tasted greasy and some items were missing - eggs, potato bread and soda bread, you had to keep returning if you wanted a full cooked breakfast. This is not what I want to do. You could order a breakfast from the menu as well though so if returning I would choose this option.
Food was amazing staff were good
Location
Mid week menu / restaurant was not as good as weekend menu / restaurant but would still highly recommend the hotel
The setting was gorgeous. Loved the outdoor hot tub. Food was grand, have had better at other hotels
Was all lovely, quite expensive though
Lovely location and view. Rooms were nice. Lots of potential.
I booked this stay on behalf of my boyfriend as a birthday treat for myself. I am not someone who ever complains, but unfortunately this was not a great experience.
To begin with, my boyfriend rang reception eight times throughout the morning and afternoon prior to our arrival to request a small birthday surprise for me. None of these calls were answered. On arrival, my boyfriend went to reception to check us in while I waited outside. He explained the situation, and although the receptionist did seem apologetic, she stated that they were very busy. This was difficult to believe, as the stay itself felt far from busy and the overall atmosphere was extremely dull.
My boyfriend then asked if he could book the spa for me. He was told that XX or XO were the only two available slots, and he selected XX. As we arrived at our 15:00 check-in time, we decided to go straight to the thermal suite to make good use of it before my spa treatment. However, we were stopped by spa staff who asked whose name the booking was under. I explained it was under XXX, but was told there was no booking on the system. It was then explained to us that the XX time we had been given was actually for use of the thermal suite, not a spa treatment.
I have stayed in many hotels and never once have I had to pre-book access to a thermal suite, nor experienced such poor communication. When we explained what reception had told us, the spa staff commented amongst themselves, saying “typical reception, they can do what they want.” As a result, we had to wait one hour and forty minutes just to use the thermal suite and did not receive a spa treatment at all.
We returned to reception to explain what had happened, but the situation was simply passed off and blamed on the spa staff. My boyfriend then confirmed our dinner reservation for XX and again requested a birthday dessert, which the receptionist confirmed would not be a problem.
Stunning
It was absolutely amazing- the setting - especially staff -rooms - food - farm shop
Would highly recommend- on arrival staff especially Lynn was above and beyond helpful throughout out stay -all staff were so friendly and made us feel so welcome and loved to answer any questions about hotel or food choices - we had beautiful big rooms to walled garden - farm shop was run by Garrett - what an extraordinary butcher full of information about gardens / vegetables and my husband a farmer could have stayed hours chatting with him about the shorthorn herd and sheep - of course the shop was brilliant with home produce- we went back twice to shop
The castle tour was out of this world- outstanding rooms - absolutely fabulous- each room had its own features but if so high standard- can’t wait to stay there for an occasion- top of my wish list - you just have to see it in person - unbelievable- you feel like a princess going around
Food in hotel was top class - including afternoon tea before we left
Everything was perfect
Attending a wedding so perfect location
All good
Lovely peaceful hotel. Such a warm and friendly stay.

First time staying truly amazing
Die Ruhe, Lage und Massage.
Zimmer zu warm. Kleine Reparaturen etc. wie bspw. am Handtuchhalter und Abfluss sind nötig.
