We went to Temptation in February and it was a great time. We have been on the summer but never during February. The pools were warm and the staff was fantastic. Giovanni and Carlos at the pool are simply the best. They go out of there way for every customer, we had a cabana each day and they made our trip fantastic.
We have a couples sensual massage from Jessica and Luis and they were professional and amazing. It was so good that we booked another massage for the following day. Orqui also works at the spa and she makes sure you are comfortable on the sauna's and cold plunge, she is a bright light and does a fantastic job.
Sutra is a our favorite restaurant and it did not disappoint this trip either. Italian and Sea Flirt are also good places. Amore's is great for breakfast and lunch, Nestor did a great job keeping our glasses full and has a lot of great knowledge about fun things to do. The playmakers are all fantastic, Diego/Redbull came and talked to us a few times throughout our stay to make sure we were having fun, again it was a fantastic trip and we look forward to coming back soon. We have read and heard about the changes but we didn't notice much of a difference. The food seemed to be a little better and the staff is always great. We are not members so we can't write about the changes but we had a blast and meet a lot of fun new friends.
It was pretty dead when I was there Feb 3-6. Nothing like the last time I was there about 8 months prior. The vibe has definitely changed along with alot of the rules and Playmakers and people that worked there.
STOP MARKETING THIS HOTEL AS A GENERIC “ADULTS ONLY PART RESORT.” It is not. In reality, it functions far more like A SWINGER-FOCUSED HOTEL, and that crucial detail is nowhere clearly stated in the description.
This hotel needs to be honest about what it actually is.
We booked as two friends expecting a fun, energetic, social atmosphere with a younger crowd. Instead, the environment was overwhelmingly couple-focused and heavily centered around a sexually charged, swinger-oriented dynamic. Most guests appeared to be 40+, and the overall vibe was nothing like what most people would reasonably expect from a typical party destination.
We felt genuinely uncomfortable throughout our stay. The social energy was not inclusive or youthful; it felt niche, closed-off, and clearly tailored to middle-aged couples seeking sexual experiences. This is not a minor detail — it defines the entire property. If the hotel were transparent about primarily catering to a swinger/lifestyle crowd, we would never have booked. The lack of clarity feels intentional and extremely misleading.
To make matters worse, the staff seemed detached and uninterested. Communication was minimal, and we did not feel welcomed or supported at any point. No one made any effort to check on us or ensure we were comfortable. At night, the staff appeared to vanish entirely, creating the impression that guest experience and safety were not a priority.
This is not a mainstream party hotel. It caters to a very specific lifestyle crowd, and that should be clearly communicated upfront. If you are looking for a fun, youthful, social vacation with friends, this is not the place.
Do your research and do not rely on the branding alone. Guests deserve full transparency about the environment they are booking into.
We went for Valentine's Day my wife and myself thanks to their amazing premier Butler staff to name a few Azul nacho Mel and Alex went out of their way and above and beyond every minute of every day to make the experience extra special for my wife these people are so gracious and humble as well as hard-working and diligent professionals
Food and beverage would like to acknowledge Ivan and dolce from the buffet Israel and Jorge of the seaflurt
The manager from sutra used around the romanza he is one of our favorites I just can't remember his name
From the pool bartenders you have Giovanni Carlos
Pool concierge Lily most amazing
All of these people are top notch and their position and their profession they go out of their way to make you feel like family and home everyone is so friendly and welcoming you can't have a bad time at this resort
Playmakers
Cowboy mag there are 10 others I can't remember their names but every one of them took time to make us feel welcome invite us to their games and the different events
I can't say enough about temptations now amazing it is
THIS PLACE IS A MUST VISIT AT LEAST ONCE
We went for our fourth trip last week and had so much fun. Our butler Alex was very helpful and attentive, our bartenders Adan, Gerry, and Matias at the premier bar were so sweet and the drinks were fantastic. Our server Hugo at Sea Flirt was on point and the food there was the best of our trip. Food quality was really the part of the trip we noticed the biggest negative change since our last trip a few years ago, it has gone down significantly. My fish was undercooked and bland at SHE, overcooked and bland at Flame, and very salty and overly fishy at Romanza. The room service was terrible food. The veggie burger was a wet, soggy, white and orange mush on a bun. The veggie burrito was just cheese with zucchini and carrots and lettuce in it. No beans, no pico, no avocado, no rice. Sky bar on the roof was our go to spot for years for lunch but when we went on Monday the 16th the bartender seemed annoyed by us asking for drinks and the servers barely stopped by. The peach pizza which mentioned figs and goat cheese came out as a regular pizza with peaches on it. We stuck with the grill by the pool after that which was solid. The restaurants also feel a little cafeteria vibes, very loud and open and easy cleanup, which I get, but when they're asking you to drop money on upgrades for steak and wine it might be nice to have a table cloth and be able to hear the person across from you. Putting some things in there to absorb the sound instead of having it bounce off of the walls and ceiling. The playmakers at the pool were great, they really do try to make it fun for everyone. The music volume wasn't too quiet like I've seen with some reviews, it seemed normal volume. The party at the pool was still there but they could use some added security to watch for pictures and video and such. The idea that we need to report it but then look around and see no one to report it to without getting out and walking around to find the one security person. I do also miss the little things like the towel art on the bed from housekeeping, that was always fun to come back to a little animal.
Amazing service at temptations. Nestor, Oscar, Dulce were great People, always on top of us making sure we are happy and full and leaving the restaurant satisfied! 100% recommended.
Always have a great experience with are time at Temptation. Very friendly and helpful staff.
From the minute we arrived, to the day we left was always a pleasure to be , from staff to management , all give 100% to make sure your stay is memorable , our yearly visit this time was , we bought a premier members package , so much hate about the place recently is nothing but just new changes implemented to make sure your purchase is right for you ,
Staff , where do I start , there was so many , Mario our butler. Always went above & beyond to keep us in the loop of daily activities and if we needed anything at all , he was very attentive and nothing was too much for him, thank you .
Giovanni from f&b , wow ! What a guy , he was fantastic, don’t ever change ! Beautiful soul.
Lily & Mike from pool side , always remembered our name and always pleasant , always stopped for a chat to ask if there was anything we needed.
Jones & Jesus from sutra , how amazing are these guys , nothing was too much , catered to every need , including a shawl on the days the AC was a little chilly , nice little touch
Jose from quiet pool bar of a night , he was just amazing , had many nights with this guy , he was so friendly and attentive , we always made it our stop before Bash , such a hard working family guy who makes the most amazing cocktails , and always made sure your glass was never empty , this guy deserves a promotion
Amazing & Top notch! Excellent 5 Star Resort. I love the rooms, accommodations, and the fantastic food selection changing day to day. and … the endless poolside and evening entertainment. Beautiful Ocean views Whether your single or going as a couple, you will love ❤️❤️❤️
What was originally sold as an exclusive, value-protecting membership has steadily turned into a frustrating cycle of benefit reductions, major price hikes, and constant moving of the goalposts.
Here are the ongoing issues members are dealing with:
• Room categories being changed or renamed, making it difficult or impossible to book the exact room level you originally purchased into
• Massive rate increases year after year, far beyond any reasonable inflation or Mexico CPI adjustments
• Member benefits quietly reduced or removed, with little to no transparency
• A noticeable decline in food and beverage quality compared to prior years
• Call center and member services that are shockingly inconsistent, slow, and often unhelpful
• Constant “restructuring” and vague messaging instead of real accountability
What makes it worse is the communication. Leadership posts long statements about “long-term sustainability” and asks members to be patient, but offers no concrete solutions, no restored value, and no meaningful reversals of the changes members are disappointed with.
The online feedback in member communities and on TripAdvisor speaks for itself — this is not just “rumors.” These are repeated, documented experiences.
At this point, Premier feels less like a loyalty program and more like a bait-and-switch, where the product you bought into is slowly being rewritten after the fact.
Temptation Cancun Resort was a wonderful experience. The facilities were very clean, the staff was very attentive and friendly. The food was delicious and the party was hopping in the party pool. Highly recommend if you are seeking and adult party vacation.
Temptation never disappoints. When looking for a party atmosphere that drips with sexiness, this is the spot. I would like to recognize some of the staff for making the experience especially memorable. Our waiters Jones from Sutra and Ivan for breakfast at Amores were exceptional. Also want to recognize Gloria who makes the omelettes…she knew my order and made it delicious. At the pool, Natali kept the drinks coming and kept us hydrated with water too. Her smile shined and really appreciated her friendly personality.
The playmakers always make you feel special and Cowboy, Wild, Chocolate, Mojito and Deli were especially memorable.
In addition to the staff at Temptation it is all the awesome people who visit that make this place so unique and special. This was our 3rd visit and we can’t wait for our 4th.
What a wonderful time! The staff went out of their way to make us feel welcome and special. We loved the party atmosphere and the people are great.
The playmakers were sexy and fun! We loved Wild, Cowboy, Mojito, Chocolate, Delhi, Daniel and Raphael.
Our servers were magnificent as well! Khris Jones at Sutra is AMAZING and is one of our favorite people. His service is top notch. Ivan at Amores is also the best! He greeted us every morning for breakfast and made sure we had everything we needed.
Natali, and Benjamin kept us happy at the pool
Our bartenders at Bash were awesome! Especially Jose and Freddy
Others that made our trip memorable were
Server Miguel and omlette lady Gloria
We loved our whole experience. We would highly recommend this place and we can’t wait to go back!
We were highly disappointed in the music at the bash. why are you paying DJ to play the same music every night? yoiu need to find DjJ that play to the crowd that is there. a hour after the show no one is dancing and complaining about the music.same bet over and over.. The service was great at the restaurants.the food was good. the bartenders are awesome. several people remembered us from last years stay. thats alway a great feeling. the place was clean and inviting to us. the butler"s were fantastic.the new playmakers were not very friendly to us. we were there for 14 days.and only one of them made a effort to say Hi. one time. Last year they chatted with us a lot.
We loved the delicious meals and our room but would have preferred a first-floor room and the room we had smelled musty and the electronic drape was dirty. Also the front desk staff's English was not good at all!
In addition, the swimming area of the sea was direct with seaweed and only got picked up towards the end of our 9 day trip.
The hot tubs were extremely filled and not hygenic and the shower head in our room was weak and I don't see why we didn't have shower gels, shampoos and conditioners bulit in to the wide wall area of the shower?
The cleaning gentlemen was good for our room 1224 but we didn't like the staff at caffeine or at swiminng pool area asking for recommendations. If I want to celebrate someone, that's up to me.
The only real restaurant and outstanding service was at She and our server Marco was outstanding. Sea Flirt had no fish so that was a serious disappointment.
Finally, we did not enjoy the crappy techno-pop music in the evenings when I would expected something more like smooth jazz and several guests in our wing (1200 block) came home at around 4am and disturbed our sleep. That is not acceptable.
We will come back but again you have to improve the breads and desserts as they were awful other that at Caffeine and your rates should be lower. But we did appreciate the limo ride in comfort coming and going from the resort.
Was good. Jones at Sutra was the best. He made the stay great. We had more fun during the week then the weekend. The crowd on the weekend was not our crowd. The atmosphere at the sexy pool wasn't as good as it was last year. Miss JJ and Pretty boy. Those 2 use to be great and got the crowd going.
This was our first time at Temptation and it surely did not disappoint! While I have read reviews of members and people who have previously attended indicating the state of the resort and management is going downhill, as a new guest we did not have any complaints.
The staff was amazing, the room was well taken care of in the daily and we did not feel we were missing anything while we were there for 10 days.
Fernando was fantastic and he kept the strong drinks coming all day long. We did upgrade our room and were able to access the premium liquor on the rooftop bar, we didn’t need to as Fernando kept our glasses full at all times. Alfredo in Fernando’s absence was also fantastic! Tipping can go a long way! The staff at the restaurants were amazing, and at one point some of the buffet servers were ‘fighting’ to have us in their section. Food was great and we had no complaints!
Our favourite restaurant by far was Sutra, and Christian provided amazing service each time we went. We attempted Flame in several occasions but found they were closed some nights, without notice. There were other options available but a heads up would have been helpful.
The only unfortunate part in terms of restaurants is the limited seating available to be booked at SHE. After standing in line for 30 mins well before the booking start time, we were turned away because there was already 6 tables waiting. We were told the remaining tables were held for members and to be booked VIP, for a significant fee. Later in the day we noticed staff trying to sell the VIP tables poolside, but nobody was biting. I wonder how many tables sit empty there every night because they are ‘reserved’.
We had no concerns with security (upon checking in there appeared to be two males getting into an altercation at the Bash bar, but were quickly informed one of them was being kicked out due to his behaviour) and we did not feel‘preyed upon’ by any guests as some others have indicated.
The entertainment was great and provided ample people-watching opportunities. We met some great people whom we will stay in contact with for sure. There is no pressure for LS if you are not interested, and minimal judgment for being ourselves. I will say the music at Bash as well as the pools appeared to be on a loop and we were able to predict the next song by day 5 or 6. A better variety would be appreciated.
Our room was by the quiet pool and we appreciated the ability to ‘take a break’ from the more lively environment at the Sexy Pool. In saying that, I do wish guests respected this area a little more as after parties from Bash often migrated to the jacuzzi suites in the middle of the night, with loud music and loud guests. As a person who struggles to sleep at times it was slightly frustrating, though not a nightly ordeal.
Overall the resort was clean and well kept, on the daily the grounds crew ensure the pools and walkways were clear of debris and we witnessed them testing the pools daily. Cooler weather left people to avoid the pools on some days, but once the sun came out and the pools warmed up a bit, there was plenty of guests to be found. Not sure if they have a way to warm up the pools on a cooler days, but I believe it would be helpful in keeping people from just being in their rooms on those days.
We did participate in the premium membership meeting and while they were persistent, once we made it clear we were not buying, they backed off. We have experienced much higher pressure for timeshares at other resorts. The free massage was worth it! Judging by the reviews memberships are deteriorating with the new management which is why we did not buy.
Transportation to and from the resort was a breeze with MTS and we’re glad that was an option provided when we booked through Expedia. We loved the fact there are some shops and restaurants just off the resort for some walks and to get a better taste of the Mexican culture.
Overall, I give this vacation a 9/10. It’s all about your expectations, as introverts we wanted a vacation where we could balance rest, relaxation, and a party atmosphere, and that was certainly the case. It all about what you put into it, and the people you meet. We will 100% be back to party some more!
My boyfriend and I finished our second visit to Temptation today, our first visit being Jan2025.
As many others are posting, we noticed a huge difference in the management of the resort. Last year we had zero issues and would have rated 5 stars, this year we were given the run around many times, on top of issues we noticed with the resort itself.
The pros:
- We met great people (other guests)
- The service staff (bartenders, restaurant staff, housekeepers etc) were phenomenal. Zero complaints and they are the only reason I gave 2 stars instead of 1.
- Good food at the buffet, bash and pool grill, and great food at à la cartes. We visiting the buffet, Flame and Sutra (teppanyaki table). Wonderful meals.
- Attentive bartenders, great drinks
The cons:
- We booked directly through Temptation this year and paid for round trip transportation ($100). No one ever showed to pick us up, no one answered the phone when we called multiple times, no transfer company had a record of us. We ended up paying out of pocket for taxi from the airport. When we showed up to the resort the check in desk told us we needed to talk to the concierge the next day about it re: refund. The next day we sat at the concierge desk for nearly an hr while she called to confirm we didn’t get picked up (we didn’t) and finally offered $40 credit (for a service that wasn’t provided and half of 100 should = 50). She said she would talk to management about it being 50 and would email us, no email came. 40 was applied to the file (after checking ourselves another day). It’s certainly not about the $10 but the principle.
- The pool and hot tub were cold. The weather wasn’t great during our stay which isn’t their fault but the pool was freezing and multiple days there were 0 guests in it. The hot tub was lukewarm at best, we saw several guests complain and the temp was never turned up.
- The music played at the pool and Bash is terrible. Even during theme nights when they play better music, they switch it by 11pm. Many guests have said this is an issue and has been for years. The night will start out with a party and then quickly die down once they change the music to the same playlist as every other night. Unless you like hearing house, EDM, or only 10 second snippets of somewhat decent songs, it’s not a good vibe.
- Last year we managed to skip the premier ‘welcome tour’ (sales pitch) and were not bothered by the premier sales team during our stay. We were stopped several times this year and had to say no multiple times to them before they’d walk away. One day we were approached twice within 20mins.
- Late checkout had been booked as our flight home was late evening, and then we were told no it wasn’t available. Then they said ok but 12. Then 1. Then 3pm, but it took again, an hour of arguing to get what had already been booked.
- Our transfer back to the airport was booked for 6pm (they told us) and when we went to checkout they said no it was 7pm. This could be a small error, but once again was not what we were told.
- Our booking had a $200USD resort credit included and we asked multiple times if it could be used at the gift shop and were told yes. When we checked out they tried to charge us for the items. Then said ‘no, you had a 200peso credit’. When I showed the email confirmation proving $200USD they then said ‘but it can’t be used for the gift shop’. Even though we had asked multiple times and were told yes. If this is the case that’s fine but all staff need to be trained properly and know this information.
- There was never a consistent answer for anything, every single time we asked about anything we were given a different answer (that ultimately benefited the resort and not us).
- All of the interactions we had with the front desk, concierge, management were so frustrating that on our checkout day we actually opted to leave early and pay for a room at the Marriott to spend our time before having to go to the airport. By that point we had zero confidence they would honour our late checkout, allow us to use the resort until transfer, or if the transfer would even show up.
Last year we booked with Air Canada Vacations and had zero issues with transfers, checking in, checking out etc.
I would HIGHLY recommend that you do not book directly with Temptation if you are planning a visit. Staff/management at the concierge, check in/out desk were an absolute nightmare to deal with and ultimately will be the reason we do not return. From many conversations with other guests, this all has to do with new management.
As mentioned above, this does not include any of the bar staff, servers, cooks, bellhops etc. they were the best part of our trip.
This is a fun adult only resort but what an unfortunate, huge difference compared to last year.
It pains me to write this review. After 14 years of loyalty and many return trips to this resort, I was very disappointed with changes new management is making. These included downgraded food quality, closing the pool and hot tub early, firing long time employees that fostered the unique experience, changes to the daytime pool activities so they are long and dull, and taking the loyalty of long time repeat guests for granted.
The resort encourages the purchase of Premier memberships at prices in the tens of thousands of US dollars. This buys the opportunity to book at discounted prices, to obtain top shelf liquor, and access to special menu items. Memberships are largely based on the number of nights you might stay in the future – perhaps 500, 700, or even 1,000. Who commits to staying at a vacation resort for 1,000 nights??? Well, one of the sales pitches is to encourage sharing your nights with friends by making them “Beneficiaries”. Your friends buy some of your nights from you privately, and you then add them to your contract. Just think, you defray the cost of your membership, and you get to vacation with your friends, all enjoying the same experience. The resort doesn’t lose nights, because the member has already purchased them, right? Not now.
New management has decided the Beneficiary program can result in all of those nights actually being used, so they took it upon themselves to treat beneficiaries as second class. You no longer share the contract, but get whatever benefits the resort decides they want you to have. When we checked in with our “member” friends we were informed that as beneficiaries we no longer had access to the same liquor selection, couldn’t sit at the same bar, and couldn’t attend the members’ lunch on the beach. All of these had been part of the beneficiary agreement. It was hard to believe that a bartender whom we had come to know and love over the years wasn’t allowed to serve us and had to shoo us away.
The entertainment staff are called Playmakers. They were managed for years by "JJ". He was the main MC of the games and was largely responsible for the outrageously fun poolside atmosphere in the afternoon. We learned shortly after check-in that JJ had been let go the week before. The new Playmakers are attractive and high energy, but are not engaging with guests. They changed from a couple of games during the afternoon to one verrrrrry long drawn out one. We rarely stayed for an entire game for our week long stay.
Complaints to Premier representatives were met with frowns and sad apologies. I could only feel sorry for them. New management was axing loyal employees and screwing repeat guests without regard. For anyone considering a visit to this resort, it is still a unique experience. However, it recently changed for the worse, and who knows what else will be changed in what is clearly a cost cutting strategy. Stay far away from any presentations or sales pitches to buy a membership. Don't reward bad behavior or engage in expensive contracts they're reluctant to honor. We can only hope that management changes again and the resort returns to the TTR that thousands of us once considered a second home.
First the good, then please read further.

Pool vibe 🥴👎👎👎
Temptation needs to wake up! Known for the best pool parties anywhere, it is weirdly off with very cold water in both the Sexy Pool and Floor 7 rooftop pool. When you are a “Pool Centric” resort, it should not be any mystery how to let people enjoy themselves. Nobody is in the water mingling when it is cold water. Nobody wants to participate in the games. The Playmakers are struggling to get people involved. If the water was warm, you would have everyone in the water hanging out and socializing. We were here in December and late January. Same disappointment both times. And we have been Premier members for many years. When we ask around about what has happened, we keep getting the same response. New CEO. Maybe that person needs to get in a cold pool and see how much fun it is. Since the marketing is aimed at the toptional pool party vibe, fix this already.
