The rooms were very small for the price of the room
Pros:

The hotel was a beautifully maintained building both in the interior and in the garden. The hotel had both premium and normal restaurants. We visited each of them and enjoyed the food according to the personal menu. The staff were polite and very willing to help with any information as well as for departure transportation. It was possible to take a tourist tour at the hotel heading towards the Valley of the Kings or the monuments and other tourist destinations of Luxor.

Cons:

The rooms were very small for the price of the room, two people could barely move around in this space. The room overlooked the Nile and the noise from the street was terrifying day and night.

Overrated s and run down
Pros:

Great location - historical building- beautiful garden -confortable beds- very nice room staff

Run down- seriously run down - reception staff not helpful, not nice , barely polite -
No decent concierge around- doormen hopeless: all really really bad for such a supposedly high class hotel - seriously overpriced( very stained carpets, lifts doors not closing properly, bad and slow service in restaurants ..) lives on his glorious past - waiting to be taken over ..

Should have been do much classier - and better..highly overpriced

It’s past glorious history , his past grandiosity, the gardens ( though a lot of it is tacky)great location - comfortable beds

Cons:

Run down property - borderline shabby / reception staff neither nice nor helpful /expensive /no double glass windows so very very noisy on Nile view even with windows closed.. whole hotel needs seriously makeover and new staff
