The shower wet all the bathroom
The location is great as it’s within easy walking distance of several historical sites in Athens. The breakfast was fine with plenty of options to choose from. The hotel staff were all friendly and helpful. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom a good size with space to put toiletries and good water pressure in the shower.
The rooftop terrace restaurant, Door in Athens, is an excellent dining option available at the hotel. Very good food and excellent staff.
While the room was clean, there was a musty smell in the bathroom and things looked tired and worn overall in the room and hotel in general.

In the smaller rooms there’s no mirror ( the bigger rooms have a mirror inside the wardrobe), only the one in the bathroom which makes it difficult if you want to use the hairdryer with a mirror. Also, if your room is on the 6th floor, you can hear chairs being moved on the roof terrace.

I had requested a double bed but we got 2 single beds pushed together with seperate bedding which was not comfortable sleeping arrangements.

We stayed at the Plaka Hotel on May 29-31, 2026. We arrived early and they allowed us to store our luggage until we could check into the room in the afternoon.
The hotel is located directly in the heart of Plaka and within easy waking distance to all of its restaurants, stores, shops and tavernas and a only axfew minutes walk to Monastiráki Square and the Athens Metro Station.
Our room was well appointed, clean and comfortable. It had two twin beds, a small balcony, a small refrigerator and a wall mounted tv. The bathroom had a tub/shower with a very deep tub and you needed to lift your legs high to step into the tub/shower.
The air conditioning was ceiling mounted and worked ok, but wasn’t super cold. The morning breakfast was your basic scrambled eggs, sausages, toast, fruit, juices & croissants & pastries.
The staff was friendly and helpful. The rooftop restaurant opens at 6:00 pm and has great views of the Acropolis.
I highly recommend the Plaka Hotel if you want an affordable, clean hotel directly in the heart of Plaka and within walking distance to everything in this area.
I found this place by accident and was pleasantly surprised. It was rather inexpensive and provided more comfort than I expected. The staff were friendly and accommodating. The room was clean and had adequate space. The bed comfortable. Great air conditioner. The blackout curtains were a bonus for me. Breakfast generally good. Fantastic location with shops and restaurants aplenty. And, let's not forget the incredible view of the Parthenon from the roof-top bar/restaurant.
