Je vous écris pour vous faire part de ma vive déception suite à mon séjour récent dans votre hôtel à Miami, du [date d'arrivée] au [date de départ].
À mon arrivée, j'ai rencontré des difficultés avec le réceptionniste, qui n'a pas pu retrouver le mail de confirmation de mon paiement. Malgré mes preuves de débit sur mon compte bancaire et la mention "payé" sur votre application, j'ai dû patienter à l’accueil, ce qui a été stressant et inacceptable.
Dans ma chambre, j'ai fait face à une inondation dans la salle de bain due à une fuite dans les toilettes. Lorsque j'ai signalé ce problème à la réception, la seule solution proposée a été de nettoyer l'eau, sans aucune offre de changement de chambre. Cela a limité mon accès aux toilettes, rendant mon séjour très inconfortable.
Pour aggraver les choses, j'ai également subi une coupure d'électricité dans ma chambre, me privant de lumière et d'électricité jusqu'au lendemain matin. Passer une nuit sans électricité est extrêmement perturbant et décevant dans un hôtel de votre catégorie.
Je vous informe que je ne souhaite pas recevoir une compensation sous forme d'un séjour dans un autre hôtel. Je demande un remboursement intégral de mon séjour par virement bancaire sur mon compte, compte tenu des nombreux désagréments rencontrés et de l'absence de solutions adéquates proposées par votre établissement.

Location/ Staff ( everyone was nice)
The room was dirty still had someone’s underwear in the bathroom drawer. Everything was dusty! The bed sat very low to the ground and was uncomfortable. No fitted sheet on the bed just a larger sheet tucked in so it moved all night. I booked a room with the balcony there was a large fan outside that constantly made a humming noise!
Close by beach.
Room cleanliness (significantly below acceptable standards)
The floors appeared not to have been properly cleaned in some time. They were sticky to walk on with bare feet.
The morning after housekeeping serviced the room, I wiped/mopped the bathroom floor with a wet cloth and the cloth came away visibly filthy (I have a photo of the cloth taken immediately after doing this, following housekeeping’s visit).
A couple of days later I did the same in the entryway, with the same result—dirt/grime came up immediately.
The flooring is gray/brown and tends to hide dirt, but the stickiness and what came up on the cloth made the condition very clear.
The rug under the bed was dirty. We asked housekeeping to vacuum it and were told the housekeepers do not have vacuums, and it was not vacuumed.
Bathroom condition / maintenance
There was mildew in the shower stall growing into corners and onto the glass—not limited to the silicone sealant, but spreading onto metal and tile.
On our first day, there was sticky glue residue on the bathroom floor.
The shower door would not close properly. Because the glass was not aligned/suspended correctly, water poured onto the floor during showers, and we had to place towels down to contain it.
There is visible wall deterioration/rot in the bathroom area which was concerning—especially given we were told the bathroom had been remodeled within the last year or two.
HVAC / temperature control
The air conditioning/temperature control did not function in a normal or usable way. When we arrived the room was extremely cold, and adjusting the thermostat did not allow us to set a target temperature.
We contacted the front desk and someone was sent up.
We were told the only option was to turn the fan off which we did but then the air was stagnant in the room.

Tínhamos pequeno almoço incluído e o mesmo não foi disponibilizado. Reclamei ao balcão e ficaram de reembolsar, mas só reembolsaram metade do valor e não respondem à reclamação pelo restante valor.

The location was amazing. It's located right across from the beach, next to the Clevelander. It was close to everything I wanted to do by walking distance. The staff was helpful and prompt when I requested something. The Havana 1957 restaurant was located inside the hotel which had live music every night. They offer bike rides, first hour is free, $10 afterwards for each additional hour. The room was clean and spacious. Loved the shower. I can tell the hotel is making upgrades. The seaview room location was good, when I looked outside my window, I could see part of the sea, the Tiki lounge next door which also had live music. So, I got a free show right from my room. I would definitely stay again!
We were informed that the hotel didn't have heat. We asked for another blanket which helped out to knock off the chill once they came and turned off the AC. This wasn't a bummer for me, but my friend doesn't like the cold. I believe it was only extra cold due to Miami had cold weather this past weekend. The next day was fine since the weather warmed up to the 70s. I would say maybe putting a microwave in the rooms would be my suggestion.
Lots of difficulties with the door pass key up and down to reception at least five times over two days. No storage space in the room and not even a coat hook or hanger. Overall an below average performance from Hotel Breakwater. Staff not that interested.
Would I stay here again....NO.
