My room was very clean, which is always my primary concern, as was the whole hotel and amenity areas. The bed is one of the more comfortable I've slept in and my room was spacious and quiet. It also had a mini fridge, which is always a huge plus Irene was so nice about letting check in early when my room was ready sooner than I had anticipated (I was hoping to drop my luggage off before check-in, so that was a pleasant surprise). She walked me through all the amenities and made me feel very comfortable and welcome, which I especially appreciated as a solo traveler in a foreign country. The hotel is really cute. It feels like a mix of the aesthetic of an upscale boutique hotel with the friendliness and community of your favorite hostel. The location was perfect--near the Van Gogh museum, Rijksmueum, luxury shopping, Vondelpark, and the heart of Amsterdam, as well as an easy 20-25 min drive from the airport. I would stay here again.

That’s my 3rd time in this place , I always like to come back due to location and comfort. It feels like home specially with the breakfast lobby design room view and good sun access.
The breakfast tastes the same like I have tasted it the first time which is good and fresh with fresh and clean ingredients. Also there are mini snacks available the whole day and drinks as well.
I like that it’s cozy specially the lobby area as feels like a designer home living room. It’s very close to the train station and museums they provide you with bike included in the booking. And most importantly in a nice calm neighbourhood, there is a shopping street right behind the place but it’s still calm. The staff was very helpful and it’s good to see some who remembered me when I came 3 years ago.

I had a wonderful stay at Jan Luyken. The location is excellent, situated in a beautiful and convenient area of Amsterdam, making it easy to explore the city on foot.

The staff were exceptionally friendly, welcoming, and helpful throughout my stay. One of the highlights was the unique townhouse-style concept of the hotel, which created a warm, relaxed, and homely atmosphere that felt very different from a traditional hotel experience.

The room was chic, elegant, and thoughtfully designed, combining comfort with modern style. I was also pleasantly surprised by the gym, which was both stylish and well-equipped, offering everything needed for a solid workout.

Overall, Jan Luyken offers a perfect blend of design, comfort, hospitality, and location. I would happily stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting Amsterdam.

Great location, nice rooms, complementary snacks and beverages

The atmosphere in the hotel was relaxed and warm. The location was great - easy to access everything but quiet and slightly away from the hubbub. The drinks and snacks in the afternoon were lovely to come back to after a day exploring. We loved the relaxed feel of the hotel and how everything was available. The staff were friendly and helpful. We really enjoyed our stay and can’t wait to come back.
