The husband could open the door to the bathroom in room 301, but it was too hard for the wife to
Great location. Stayed in two different rooms. First on higher floor v comfy bed and nice outlook on the canal. Tasty breakfast.
Inconsistent rooms; one was great but the second on a lower floor had no mattress topper so less comfortable bed. Noisy aircon and shower tray which hardly drained.
Location is excellent for the Pride canal parade
The coffee machine in the guest area was broken for some options so I had to test all options to find out which coffee worked. Please fix.
Ideally located, clean and comfortable with a charming staff.
A bit pricey, but overall worth it.
The location of the hotel was perfect for us to walk around the city. The staff were all very kind and accommodating. We loved our room, the cappuccino upstairs in the sitting area, breakfasts were delicous and the waitress was so thoughtful. We highly recommend staying at the Dikker & Thijs Hotel!
We liked everything
Very friendly staff, always there to help, the position of the hotel is really good, close to the tram stop and easy to reach most of the attractions in the city from there by foot. I also liked kinda vintage vibe of the hotel.
I had not major issues, once I had a problem with warm water while showering, but it never happened again and then the closet in the room was making noises when opening - needs probably some repair, but it is all minor things, all else was perfect for my stay.
Wonderful breakfast, excellent location right next to the canal, short walk to major museums and other sights.
Everything was great, I can't think of anything I didn't like.
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Outstanding Stay – Perfect Location for Exploring Amsterdam!
Our stay at the Dikker & Thijs Hotel exceeded our expectations. If you're visiting Amsterdam and want to be within easy reach of the city's attractions, I can't imagine a better location.
The hotel is perfectly situated along one of Amsterdam's beautiful canals, and we were able to walk to almost everything we wanted to see and do. One of the biggest conveniences was having the tram stop just steps from the hotel entrance, making it incredibly easy to get anywhere in the city.
We were in Amsterdam for World Pride, and the location couldn't have been better. The boat we joined for the Canal Parade was only about a 9-minute walk from the hotel, which made getting to and from the event completely stress-free.
There are numerous restaurants, cafés, bakeries, and small markets within a few minutes' walk, so grabbing breakfast, dinner, snacks, or drinks was always convenient. Having a grocery store nearby was especially nice for picking up refreshments and anything we needed during our stay.
What really made the experience special was the staff. Everyone we encountered was friendly, welcoming, and genuinely eager to help. They answered questions, offered recommendations, and made us feel at home from check-in through departure. Their hospitality truly added to our experience.
The hotel itself was clean, comfortable, and full of charm, fitting perfectly with Amsterdam's historic character while still offering modern comforts.
We would absolutely stay here again on our next visit to Amsterdam and highly recommend the Dikker & Thijs Hotel to anyone looking for an exceptional location, outstanding service, and easy access to everything the city has to offer.
Thank you to the entire Dikker & Thijs team for helping make our Amsterdam vacation such a memorable one!
The only suggestion I would make is that some of the room furniture and linens could be refreshed and updated. It didn't take away from our stay, but those improvements would make an already wonderful hotel even better.
Location. Breakfast buffet was excellent.
*NO HOT WATER
*Lack of information on using room technology.
*Could not use casting on TV.
Had to change rooms.
Staff supervisor very defensive, abrasive and kept interrupting me when I was answering her questions.
