Breakfast was bountiful. All of the servers, the restaurant réception person, and the omelette bar chefs were super kind.
We stayed twice. I did not particuarly like the rooms (206 and 207). My friend and I felt the rooms were not as nice as the port view (rooms 220 and 222) which appeared larger and had more light due to not having other buildings across from the hotel.
Location was excellent - close to airport and downtown.
We had trouble adjusting the temperature in the room.
Staff so friendly and helpful. Room lovely and very clean. Location perfect- everything within a few minutes' walk. Breakfast great- lots of choice
I'd upgraded to this hotel because of the great reviews about the rooftop- views, bar, sun loungers and pool. On arrival i was told the rooftop was completely closed due to work being completed. Although it was unavoidable I would have stayed elsewhere as the reason for choosing this hotel was to have somewhere to sunbathe and I was hoping my son would swim. There was a pool downstairs but it was in the shade all day so the area was too cold to sit or swim. This was really disappointing as the hotel in general is very good.
Friendly and accommodating staff made our celebration very special with free upgrade on room and a delicious mousse! Great location for exploring heraklion’s old town. Very good buffet breakfast.
Pool was closed when we visited which was a shame.
Lovely hotel, good room, good breakfast, helpful and efficient staff
Lovely staff - especially at breakfast - so friendly and forthcoming. Breakfast was copious - the rooms were very clean and the location is perfect for exploring the museum and old town - all very walkable
It is a little bit dated - the carpets could do with replacing and some of the harbour view rooms don’t really have much of a view.
L’emplacement.
We had 10 wonderful days at the Aquila Atlantis. The hotel offered everything we had previously planned for our stay in Heraklion: a central location (close to the city, about an 8-minute walk to the Morosini Fountain/the market street, about 5 minutes to Plateia Eleftherias or the port, the Archaeological Museum is right next door, we visited the Palace of Knossos by public bus), quiet rooms (the rooms are soundproofed; with the window closed, you can't hear the port or the airport 6 kilometers away), and an interesting view (we chose an "Executive room with a port view").
The service is first-class; all staff members were always friendly and helpful, even with questions and requests that went beyond the usual standard. The rooms were thoroughly cleaned daily and restocked with two coffee capsules and water bottles each.
The breakfast buffet (included) is plentiful, fresh, and delicious. There was nothing to complain about with the Wi Fi signal either.
For 5 days, we rented a car, which we parked overnight at the harbor (6 €/night, about a 5-minute walk). The hotel parking lot is very small; the few parking spaces cannot be reserved.
We did not use the spa facilities, and the pools were still closed at the end of March.
Tip: Be sure to try the hotel restaurant. It may not have the charm of the many tavernas in the surrounding area, but the quality and prices of the food are really excellent!
We are very satisfied and are happy to recommend the Aquila Atlantis Hotel. A very warm thank you to Maria and all the other unnamed staff members who made our stay so pleasant.
We asked for better weather conditions but the weren’t able to help ;-)

The hotel was inviting, comfortable, and a high end. Our bathroom was the largest we had in all of Greece! The rain shower head had the best pressure, and they also had a full-size bath tub. The room had all the amenities we could need, and we felt relaxed. It was a short walk to restaurants. The hotel did arrange a taxi for us to the airport, but there was not a free shuttle.
