The location is great and the accommodation is generally good. We had to get the taps fixed and get the weighing scales working. Our real problem was the food - not interesting, not well prepared. In a place like that, food is very important.
Also, we informed the hotel two months before we went that there would be 3 people and not 4, but the hotel didn't reply, didn't pay any attention, and have refused to refund the cost of the fourth person. When we were there they promised to do something but didn't.
This should have been a wonderful stay, but it wasn't. And it wasn't cheap. Disappointing.
The place was like a green oasis. Lovely beach and very good food.
I traveled with my sister and we had a great stay in Matemwe and at Zanzibar Pearl. We had a very nice bungalow right in front of the beach. The hotel management was excellent, all staff extremely nice and available and the hotel has an amazing garden with tropical plants surrounding each bungalow. The beach is beautiful and all local people in Matemwe are fantastic!
Few suggestions for the hotel: to put a fridge in the rooms, as it's nice to be able to keep few cold drinks or fruit in your own room, and to find a way (maybe darker curtains?) to avoid light to come inside the room early morning while sleeping.
Magnifique ! Personnel attentionné, un moment très agréable tout au long de notre séjour.
- The Hotel beach is nice
- The food is soo good
- The staff are very nice and lovely
- Nothing around the hotel, so its good for disconnecting
- Going/coming from stone town with hotel taxi will cost you 100 USD
- The internet is bad in the rooms
- No minibar in the room
- No AC (in the room)
- No Blankets
- The Rain water fill my room at my first night, i woke up the hole room was full of water even the electrical sockets, and no one was there till 8:00am, next day they give me a diffrent room with no sea view and the AC was not working in the room
We booked 2 suite rooms for all the family-adults and children’s -the rooms are new and big but:there is no beds to sit on the beach only 8 was and all occupied the swimming pool it’s hole of 3 meters only to practice divers ,the staff are not friendly and take them a lot of time to bring something-blanket-3days
Food at the restaurant 1hr
2days wasn’t hot water so we couldn’t take a shower ,1day without electricity,no air conditioning at the rooms so all the insects coming in -Ann’s,mosquitoes spiders even small snake, there is a masque behind the hotel that starts at 04:30am than starting at 05:30 to burn the garbage with this smell for sure you can’t sleep
The manager tried to help a lot but no success unfortunately we have to run a way after 4 nights from 7 that we booked and losing a lot of money
The prices of the restaurant are expensive 4$for coffee and you can’t go out from this village
If you are backpackers it will fit you
I won’t call this hotel maybe hostel
