Not worth sweating it out
Pros:

Location is excellent to walk everywhere

Cons:

No aircon so we had a few of us that stayed there could not get any sleep with just a fan on. Had to go to reception at 5am each morning just to sit in aircon . This ruined this journey for all of us. I noticed no heating either so in winter pack extra blankets if you want to stay here

Pros:

I had a very pleasant stay at this hotel. The location is excellent, within easy walking distance of the city centre and Southampton's main attractions.
The staff were exceptionally friendly, welcoming, and always willing to help. The rooms were clean and well maintained. The breakfast was tasty, and although the selection was the same every day, everything was fresh and of good quality.

Cons:

The only downside was the lack of air conditioning, which made the room quite warm on hotter days.

not great value
Pros:

Good location for Southampton Port ready for early start the next day for onward travel

bed comfortable
bathroom fine but tired

Cons:

Hotel accomodation is tired. Obviously invested money in common facilities but the bedrooms and common areas are tied as is the heating and cooling equipment.
Fans noisey, window seals poor.
sever lack of power points in room

Breakfast was a shambles.
lots of items were low or empty and staff had no urgency to replenish.
cooked breakfast was poor quality - sausage had unusual texture - probably full of rust and binder, little taste.
Not a smile in sight from most of the staff - they could do with some customer service training and view the facilities and services from a customers perspective. The majority just did not seem to care less.

Pros:

Not a lot, to start with we had to change rooms due to the noise from:the air circulation unit which clicked constantly, the room was absolutely roasting from the sun. The second room was better no noise and no sun beating down on the windows. The room was tired and had seen.better days.
The bathroom had mould and hairline crack in the bath rusty taps. The carpet needed a clean. No hand towels available. The bed was hard and uncomfortable but clean as were the two bath towels. The tea coffee and milk were basic and we didn’t bother with them. If you want not cheap but adequate it’s ok, I wouldn’t recommend this hotel due to lack of sleep and not very good restaurant facilities.

Cons:
