My choice hotel when in Chicago for years
Pros:

Location of this hotel meets my needs perfectly. Rooms are always nicely decorated, the hotel is immaculately clean, the noise level is never a concern and the visible but never overbearing security is comforting. I love love love the fact that there is a Starbucks accessible through the lobby, offering the full array of typical Starbucks products at their usual prices. The staff and the service at this Starbucks are plentiful and super efficient.

Best of the Best from A to Z and back again.
Pros:

Our 'go to' hotel in Chicago. Great location, terrific rooms, best Food and Beverage outlets and the best service teams from A to Z and back again!!! From the doorman on arrival to checkin at the desk, to the bellmen's arrival with luggage to Michael Jordans Restaurant and Bar and Center Court was 5 Stars all the way. Thanks for a great weekend on Mag Mile!!!!

Best location in all of Chicago!
Pros:

Perfect location for all things Chicago! Very quiet! Nice sized rooms! All the staff was friendly and engaging. Great price for all the Hotel has to offer. Both restaurants were excellent, too. I will stay here on my next visits to Chicago.

Great Experience - two very minor hiccups
Pros:

Excellent location, great staff and service, and beautiful hotel. Slight hiccups - was not clear from website where to pick up and drop off valet - had to call while circling the hotel. In the dark, in attempt to turn on lights, accidentally hit the "do not disturb" button without knowing, thus missed a housekeeping visit one day. Other than these slight hiccups, the hotel was great.

Amazing Stay!
Pros:

Our stay was amazing! We took a weekend girls trip and they accommodated us very well! Our doorman Clive helped us out so much as well leaving the hotel ! He was so nice and got us our ride to the airport! We will be back!

Above and Beyond
Pros:

We decided to spend my best friend's birthday celebration in Chicago. We chose a few different hotels in which to spend the twelve day extravaganza. 

The InterContinental went the extra mile by assigning us a fabulous corner suite with killer close up views of all the major landmark buildings that most define the iconic Chicago architecture. Not only were we ensconced in luxurious surroundings, we were treated with a wonderful  and generous celebratory offering. Many thanks to Nabil, Andrew, and Malcolm for making our visit so extraordinary! Know that we were blown away by your hospitality and the historical gravitas of the IC hard product in its present and former incarnations.

During our three night stay, we enjoyed breakfast daily at Center Court, and enjoyed the wonderful tomahawk steak for dinner at Michael Jordan's Steakhouse. We enjoyed everything about our stay at the IC. The indoor pool and multi-level fitness center were fabulous; really not to be overlooked. Location wise, the IC ticked all the boxes. It was walking distance to all the major tourist, dining, and shopping venues. One couldn’t ask for better. Time just flew by. Why was Chicago off my radar for so long?

Slightly missed the 5 star mark
Pros:

Check in was efficient and requested a late check out of 4pm which I was granted.

The suite was super clean and for a large decent size. Amenities were great.

Staff service was good in general .

The reason it was not 5/5 review was due to the following three things
1 - The mattress would need to replaced in the not too distant future.
2 - Breakfast was very average. At a five star establishment I would expect a better selection and made to order items in addition to the buffet. For example some fried or poached eggs. Rather than over dried scrambled eggs sat on hot plate for ages . Pastry and fruit selection was dire. I’ve Had a better breakfast at Holiday Inns in Europe.
3- even with a do not disturb sign on the door housekeeping barged in at 10am wanting to clean the room and telling me I had checked out already.

My expectations I guess were high and I was disappointed.

Excellent all-around
Pros:

We would come back if the price is reasonable.
Pros:

Bed was comfortable. Shower pressure was good. Room temperature was fine.

Cons:

The bathroom faucet dripped but didn’t effect our stay.
