Loved everything about this hotel
Pros:

I loved everything about this hotel…the best location, amazing views of the Wrigley building and skyline (I could see both the lake and the river from my room). A large, very comfortable room kept at perfect temperature with the biggest TV I have ever had in a hotel. There is Michael Jordans steakhouse which was delicious is in the hotel, in the beautiful historic building. There is also a Starbucks too. The icing on the cake is the original huge and beautifully tiled heated swimming pool, which you have to visit even if you are not swimming! Thank you, after trying many other hotels in Chicago, I have finally found the one for me.

Great hotel for family and business trips. I stayed there for two days with my family. It was really a very neat and relaxing experience with unparalleled comfort . I liked the historical aspect of the buildings. Customer service was superb and always willing to help. I would definitely recommend it.

Excellent service, great location, gorgeous hints of old Chicago with modern amenities
Pros:

Loved the service, convenient location, spacious well appointed rooms, delicious meal at Casa Chi and convenience of the Starbucks in the lobby to boot! Not to mention the old world charm of the pool which is like taking a trip back in time. The pictures do not do it justice. Perfect for our girls staycation.

Bad experience
Pros:

No one cleaned my room, I made the claim at 18:00 when I returned, and no one did anything, they didn't even call me in case I needed clean towels

Didn't meet expectations
Pros:

Below expectations. For a "King Premium" room in the "executive tower", it was small and poorly laid out. I've had more space in a Holiday Inn. Thank you for the 85" TV -- that was 18" from the foot of the bed, making it impossible to watch. Oh, let's unpack and put the clothes in the drawers -- the only ones of which are in the nightstand. What else is missing from the online pictures? Separate tub and shower, bench at the foot of the bed (no room between the bed and credenza), about 100 sq ft of space, plus a couch. Only two sets of towels in the bathroom, not sure what the upscale bath amenities were. Complimentary internet -- you get what you pay for -- crashed at a key time and wouldn't return, even with the alternative site that the front desk provided. A $32 per night "resort fee" (this is an urban hotel, not a resort!), $88 per night for valet parking and 17.5% in taxes -- be sure to know what you're getting. Also, look at the restaurant checks -- they may have a service charge already built into them. On the upside, the room was clean, quiet and had a nice view. Location was fine (Malnati's across the street) but with the arctic chill, we didn't stroll Michigan Ave. or the riverwalk. Bell staff was good, front desk unhelpful when I commented about the room ("all rooms are different") and event staff uneven -- in my limited interaction with them, the bartenders were sloppy (wrong order, pouring in and out of the glass) but table waiters were fine.

Amazing
Pros:

The best service I have ever experienced at a hotel stay. I will definitely return in the future. In addition, room service was always delivered in less than 15 minutes.

Not pleased with management addressing issues
Pros:

Hotel overcharges for parking - a note should be included to let a person know at booking how ridiculously expensive the parking is $88/night!!!

Then they overcharge for incidentals and refused to use the retainer charge to pay for the parking.

You simply don’t expect the arrogance of this at a nice hotel
