If you stay at this hotel, make sure to get a room in the main building. Otherwise you will be in the Section 8 housing, seriously, they put guests in an adjacent building that is basically transient housing. It’s awful. A/C doesn’t work, mice, terrible smells, really awful
I've stayed at this Marriott twice this spring. Once with my elderly parents requiring accommodations and once alone.
I was struck on both visits by how thoughtful, kind, and attentive the front desk staff are. They go out of their way to check in, be helpful.
The rooms are as expected as is the abundant buffet breakfast.
The staff are OUTSTANDING and memorable. Thank you!

Genuinely the warmest and best customer service I have gotten at any Marriott hotel, from check in to check out. Bri, Jess and Steven could not have been nicer. The staff on duty at breakfast were also very welcoming and friendly. I was truly impressed with the whole team!
I booked this hotel for 9 nights but I’m changing my hotel after staying only 2 nights. This hotel is quite old, very dirty carpets everywhere, very loud air conditioning, old furniture, and sub par breakfast. Good location and friendly front desk staffers but it’s not enough for me to stay in this hotel.

Easy to park. Steven and Jessica at the front desk are the kind of friendly that lets you know you can relax now, you made it to the hotel. The whole hotel including my room smell like a nice fresh floral breeze. Comfortable, spacious, warmly lit room.

When I'm in SLC I nearly always stay at the Residence Inn Downtown because of it's handy location, friendly staff, and services. On my most recent visit with family members, the staff were especially friendly - including the dining room/breakfast staff, Jess at the front desk on arrival and Steven at check-out. In between arrival and departure, all the inn's staff were welcoming and helpful.
Ive stayed in literally hundreds of Marriott hotels over the last three decades and the team at this hotel are unbelievable!!! of course the rooms are great, the breakfast was hot and the proprty was clean.. most hotels are, what sets this hotel apart is the obvious camaraderie of the team and their care for their guests... my son broke his collar bone at SNowbird and we had to extend our stay to accomadate his surgery.. we arrived back to our spotless room to find a personalized care oackage for my son and it seems like every member of the staff was asking us how he was! We will definitely be back, its a great hotel that is walking distance yo everything.
