When I'm in SLC I nearly always stay at the Residence Inn Downtown because of it's handy location, friendly staff, and services. On my most recent visit with family members, the staff were especially friendly - including the dining room/breakfast staff, Jess at the front desk on arrival and Steven at check-out. In between arrival and departure, all the inn's staff were welcoming and helpful.
Ive stayed in literally hundreds of Marriott hotels over the last three decades and the team at this hotel are unbelievable!!! of course the rooms are great, the breakfast was hot and the proprty was clean.. most hotels are, what sets this hotel apart is the obvious camaraderie of the team and their care for their guests... my son broke his collar bone at SNowbird and we had to extend our stay to accomadate his surgery.. we arrived back to our spotless room to find a personalized care oackage for my son and it seems like every member of the staff was asking us how he was! We will definitely be back, its a great hotel that is walking distance yo everything.
Nice spacious rooms
Had to request housecleaning services multiple times.
Breakfast was rather average.
Steven made the check in easy. The whole staff was polite and helpful. My room was clean and comfortable.
Highly recommend this facility They offer two bedroom suites which are great for family travel Mindy Gardner is the general manager She met us in the dining room Michael Gregson is Director of Sales The kitchen is convenient The breakfasts are excellent with lots of variety We will definitely be back
The staff makes this place tick. Steven and the blonde woman who checked me in whose name I unfortunately forgot as well as the rest of the staff ranging from housekeeping to breakfast attendants made the stay great, and easier to overlook some of the shortcomings which relate more to the physical state of the hotel. Because let's be honest, it's seen better days. I stayed here for ten nights for works and it was adequate but not sure it's good enough to come back to for that long stay.
I see people complaining about the hot water taking ages to arrive - it's true. But you learn to turn the water on first thing when you want to shower and then it's warm by the time you want to get in. Wasting water in the desert doesn't seem like a good idea but here we are. You also learn to lift your feet properly because the carpeting is raising itself causing trip hazards. They try to putting it back down using weights from the gym which adds some difficulty to the obstacle course. Only one elevator was working the whole time I was there, the AC is as loud as a jet engine and the sound proofing between rooms and into the hallways is abysmal. I thought someone was in my room one day but it was just the lady next door on a Teams meeting and there's light coming through the hallway door to the room which means it's not sealed which is also concerning from a fire safety point of view. Then we haven't gotten into the purely esthetical things like poorly painted walls etc.
Then there are also smaller things like stains on my comforter, tv-remote not working well etc.
But with all those things, the hotel is definitely not a no go. And the only reason for that is the staff. I hope management treats them well because that is the main thing this place has going for it.
El desayuno fue variado y delicioso.
No hubo nada que no me agradara.
It was very close to the Delta Center downtown so we could walk to and from our event. The receptionists were very kind.
The staff was very nice. The location was great.
The shower had clumps of long black hair on the wall. The balcony sliding door was dirty.
I had to call to make a reservation and change a reservation and Stephen was so helpful! He also mentioned he was new and helped me extremely well. He was fun to talk to and definitely deserves a raise. Thank you Steven!!
Last night I stayed in this Residence Inn and wanted to share my experience so others will know what to expect. This hotel is very dated and is not kept up well. This is just an appearance issue, however, after checking in at 730pm, I turned on the shower to the hot position on the valve and after 5 minutes had no hot water. I called the front desk, the man who answered was nasty with me when I asked him for a new room. He said there were no other rooms and the hot water heater does work. Eventually, I agreed to have him send up a repairman. When Alberto arrived he was ever so pleasant to deal with. I had him test the water coming out of the shower head for the last 5 minutes and it was still cold. Alberto went to the hallway and checked the hot water heater and it was fine. He came back and tested the sink water and it was hot. He then adjusted the valve handle on the shower to the cold position and the water got hot. My experience yesterday cannot be the first time someone complained that the plumbing in the shower was not working properly. This review is to point out that the hotel management does not sufficiently take care of this facility. The plumbing lines to the shower have been incorrectly installed so the hot and cold are reversed. It is likely, the management knows about this issue and has done nothing about it, even though, they have a very willing and able maintenance man named Albert to fix this kind of issue. The general condition of this hotel is sub-standard compared to the many, many, many Marriott Residence Inn's I have stayed in. The nasty man on the phone made it worse. My stay was on the evening of the 5th of February 2026.
The room was beyond expected and the pool and tub in the bathroom was great!
There really wasn't anything negative about my stay.
Close to downtown and quiet
Na
I’ll make this very short and sweet! Save your money do not stay at this location. Every bad review prior to this one is 100% correct!
The breakfast was amazing and the staff was very friendly.
We had a hard time checking in through booking.com because the confirmation numbers weren't the same, it wasn't saved under my name and the booking.com credit card had been declined initially. It worked out ok in the end though.
