Finally I can have a room on the first floor .
This was one of the worst hotel experiences I have ever had. We originally booked a room with 1 bedroom, 1.5 bathrooms, a kitchen, and a living room. However, the air conditioning in our room was not working properly. It was extremely loud, the temperature could not be adjusted, and the room was freezing cold all the time with unbearable noise.
Instead of properly fixing the issue, the hotel took four hours to do nothing. By the time they finally responded, it was already dark. The maintenance process was slow, and the technician was clearly not professional or effective in resolving the issue.
Eventually, we were moved to another room, but the new room had no living room, no kitchen, and only one bathroom. The hotel only offered a $75 compensation. This makes no sense. Why wasn’t the adjustment calculated based on the actual rate difference between the room types? We paid nearly $1,000 for this stay — is this really the level of service a guest should expect?
The difference between the two rooms is clearly not just $75. We paid for a specific room type and amenities, but the hotel failed to provide what we originally booked. The lack of responsibility, poor communication, and ineffective problem-solving made this experience extremely frustrating.
When I got home, I discovered numerous itchy red spots all over my limbs. I strongly suspect there were bugs in the hotel bed, and the condition still hasn't cleared up. This was absolutely the worst hotel experience I’ve had in years.
The bikes were really fun to ride moya-Kay
Pool und allgemein Aussenbereich traumhaft
Ein Zimmer war feucht. Das andere gut
MK and Tanya were very friendly and helpful when we rented fishing poles to fish off the dock.
…
I was charged twice for my stay and can’t get a response from the resort.
Amazing!! Moya Kay was so helpful and sweet. Gave my 3 year old a snow cone afterwards.
Wonderful people, amenities and location. Miss Lilly was super helpful at the restaurant. MK helped us make beautiful tie dye t-shirts to take our memories of the blue/aquamarine waters home!
Customer service was amazing from chk-in at the front desk to tiki bar. Everyone was super friendly
Beware if you expect consistent value within the Islamorada Resort Collection. My wife and I rented a pool cabana at Amara Cay, only to discover that their sister property, Three Waters, charges the exact same price but includes a massive $250 food and beverage credit. Amara Cay provides absolutely zero credit.
When I brought this $250 value disparity to the Front Desk Manager, her excuse was that Three Waters is a bigger property and can 'afford to do more.' As a paying guest, that is an insulting justification for a corporate double standard.
I emailed leadership and the sales team (Cart Code: RC-IPJVAE) requesting they at least credit the $100 we spent out-of-pocket on food. They ignored me for days, and then sent a generic template email refusing to do anything about it.
If you are going to spend premium money in Islamorada, book at Three Waters or somewhere else that respects its guests. Amara Cay’s management would rather protect a few dollars than fix a glaring, unfair policy.
Words can not describe how amazing the time we had at this resort. Every employee greeted us with a smile and was extremely helpful. The hotel felt like we were on a tropical island. Rooms were so spacious and clean. And the best part was all the amenities including utilizing the other two sister resorts. We didn’t want to leave the resort areas because of how beautiful each one was.
Can’t wait to come back again. Sad I’m leaving a part of my heart here. 🥰
We had a wonderful experience dining here! The food was delicious, the atmosphere was great, and the service really stood out.
A special thank you to Alexis the complex manager for being so welcoming and making sure everything went smoothly. Luis, the restaurant manager, was also very attentive and professional. Our waiter, Damien, provided excellent service — friendly, helpful, and checked on us throughout the meal.
Everyone worked together to make the experience enjoyable, and we truly appreciated the hospitality. We would definitely come back again!
We had a great breakfast at Amara Cay restaurant. Our server Verline was attentive and sweet.
My husband and I had the good fortune of meeting Alona at the front desk. Not only was she friendly and helpful, but she also got rid of a gekko that was in the lobby! Pretty sure that wasn’t in her job description. Thanks, Alona, for making our stay memorable.
Chloe from the front desk was so helpful.. everyone there was friendly!!
Chloe from the front desk made us feel at home. She hooked us up with a ride and had cookies for us when we got back...
Had a great stay at Amara Kay— the hotel was clean, comfortable, and well maintained, making it an easy choice for a relaxing visit.
The highlight of our stay was Chloe at the front desk. She was absolutely the best — welcoming, professional, and incredibly helpful with anything we needed. Service like that really sets a place apart.
Overall, a great experience and we’ll definitely be back. Highly recommend!
