Denise our front desk girl AMAZING , and our room… PEACEFUL and I was to take the best nap I have had in a long time
Pros:

Denise - Our front desk girl - COULD NOT HAVE BEEN - the sweetest, incredible, and most helpful person - we have encountered. Every time we come here the staff is amazing but Denise, has this most amazing warmth of welcoming. From that moment we are ready to book for another stay!!! thank you Denise, we look forward to see you the other staff members! KEEP IT UP!

Cons:

Nothing every thing was perfect

This hotel DOES NOT deserve to bear the name of "by Hilton"
Pros:

The staff at the front desk were warmhearted and helpful, the only merit of this hotel. Due to word limit, I'll write unfinished negative comment here: illumination was terrible since there's no roof light in the center of the room. All you can do at night is to turn on all the lamps to make it not way too dim, and the desk lamp of both rooms that I stayed had a flashing, nearly burn out tube. The wooden room door will not isolate you from noise in the corridor and you can enjoy the kids' screaming as they run in the hallway. The door in the first room even has a crack near the swing bar lock and a small picece of wood had fallen from the crack on the first day I checkin. The window lock can be troublesome in certain rooms as you'll try very hard to lock it properly to isolate yourself from loud traffic noise of interstate freeway right by the hotel. Also on the same night when the AC broke down, the vapour even triggered the false fire alarm when I was taking the shower and I was almost naked when I had to answer the door for the electrician doing an welfare check after the alarm stopped. I hope that motion sensor in the bathroom can be as much sensitive as the fire detector in the room. I chose this hotel since I wanna keep myself safe and Norwalk is far away from Downtown LA. It was indeed safe and by the way a bit cheaper, but you'll never get what you pay for. After making all the complaints, frontdesk staff told me that all what he can do is to cut my parking fee from 12 nights to 9 nights which will deduct $100 deposit paid at checkin. As for the paid "high-speed" wifi, it won't let me login after I had to change my room and thanks the kind frontdesk staff since she ticked me off from being charged. Cannot imagine this hotel was renovated in 2018 because pretty much everything remained in the 80's except from the TV. So many Doubletree hotels in undeveloped countries can be far better than this one.

Cons:

Whole facility was crap. Get into the room you'll be welcomed by a damp rotten smell feels like something is mould, which is caused by the filthy and damp carpet. The only way to make yourself a bit better is to switch the AC to DRY mode and get fingers crossed praying that cleaning staff will not turn it off to FAN mode. Aircon broke down halfway during my stay: when I returned at 9PM the room was 60°F and the electrician told me that it's a jumping swtichboard issue that he can only get it fixed by tomorrow morning thus I had to cope with the winter night at SoCal with the room temperature at 50°F when I woke up shivering next morning. When I returned at 8PM totally worn out, the staff told me that the electrician cannot fix this issue and I had to pack all my stuff to move to another room. I did require housekeeping everyday but their cleaning staff missed for twice and for once they left two garbage of trash directly onto my desk above my personal stuff for no reason. As for the bathroom, I don't know which genius put that motion sensor in the bathroom and set up the awesome timeout setting. Unless you take a shower or bath really really quick as sonic, or you'll be suddenly left in the dark behind the shower curtain since the motion sensor won't cover the shower/bath area. The pipe in the wall will also make a loud humming noise if you or your neigbour is taking a shower or flush the toilet. The "coffee maker" provided in the room will only work with their coffee bag. Go buy your won kettle for tea. The facility info of this hotel at bookings.com indicates that microwave is provided in the room, don't get scammed, it DOES NOT. Maximum speed of their wifi stuck at 27 Mbps, and do not waste money pay for "high-speed" wifi, it's the same speed as free wifi. Even by the standard of 2016, 27Mbps is far from "high-speed" and they'll charge you $104.65 for 7 days and $59.8 for 4 days.

Disappointing and frustrating spending extra money on a "nice" room for nothing.
Cons:

The room wouldn't go below 71 degrees. Requested a late check out which was honored until noon, but was bothered by staff multiple times to leave within 20 min after the regular checkout time.

Wonderful stay other than some miscommunication
Pros:

It's always a joy staying at this Double Tree location. This is one of my favorite hotels to book whenever I am in Socal as I find it so convenient location wise in terms of traveling and surrounding food options. I also feel safer here compared to other hotels in surrounding areas as a female traveler who sometimes stays here solo.

Cons:

During this trip, I stayed from Monday until Saturday. When I checked in on Monday, I asked for housekeeping on Wednesday at 12 PM. This is my first time asking for housekeeping as I usually just run by the front desk, but I thought it would be more convenient to have someone scheduled to swing by. I strip my bed sheets and gather my used towels before 12 PM on Wednesday to make it more convenient. 12:30 rolls around and no sign of housekeeping, so I call the front desk just to make sure I was still put down. They assured me that housekeeping was a little behind, but they will get to me. No problem at all! However, 4 PM rolls by, and me and my partner are kind of exhausted from waiting on the couch for the past 4 hours. I call the front desk again, and they said they will be sending someone up right now. I wait another hour and once it hits 5 PM, I decide to go down to the front desk to see what's going on. I find out that apparently I was put down for Thursday at 11:30 AM. Mind you, I specifically asked for Wednesday when I initially checked-in. When I explained the situation, they called housekeeping to send someone up. They then asked if I wanted to keep the Thursday scheduled, in which I said no because I never wanted it then. They also asked if I wanted it on Friday, in which I also declined. I was supposed to go out to dinner that night, but didn't as housekeeping didn't come until 5:40 PM and I was too drained and exhausted from waiting at that point. That could've been the end of it except on Friday around 3 PM, I get a call from the front desk asking if I would still like my scheduled housekeeping for that day...reminder, I never asked for housekeeping on Friday and I even told the front desk on Wednesday I did not want housekeeping. It was actually quite a bit frustrating that there seemed to be some miscommunication between the front desk staff and their system. This experience has made me not want to do scheduled housekeeping anymore.
